great way to get exercise :)
just search 'walking the dog' under activities, if you know about how long you walked you could log it. it might not be exact but it will give you a good idea :)
Hi.... only that I will only be doing this for a week... kinda wished i started last week
hubby is deploying next wednesday and we have 3 boys~ but for now we shall enjoy it!
Gah yeah. working out in the morning makes you feel so good. It's just the waking up part that is hard for me. I used to get up and run in the mornings, but now I just do elliptical. I wake up around 9 or so and work out. Not too early, but still makes me feel great. I could swear im more productive during the day too because of the extra energy boost I get all day.
If you get serious with it you might consider getting a heart rate monitor. They are much more accurate than the ones on machines at the gym (which are normally 75-100 calories above what i actually burn in a quick 15-20 min warm-up) and you can use it while you do anything. You just have to make sure and get one with a calorie counter. I have found that it encourages me even more, I make goals for each workout of how many I have to hit before I quit and can go back and look at every workout. At the end of the week it makes a log and give weekly totals too. Who knows, maybe it can be your motivational partner when it is nasty outside and Kitt doesn't want to go out.
Hey that is so cool! Welcome to the early walkers club.
I go out every morning at 5.40 and do an hours brisk walk/jog - really wakes me up and I love the feeling after I've had my shower and am getting dressed for work. I feel like... YEAH I've done something really good for myself today.
YOu have an I-POD? So do I! I bought the Nike attachment - it's like a pedometer (ok you need to buy the Nike shoes to put the sender in) and it records your pace, distance, time, how many calories you've burned etc. It's really cool and I tunes keeps a record of your workouts.
You can also set it do do different workouts.
I love it because I can really see an improvement! It's kinda motivating.
(Gosh I sound like an ad or something:-)))-
Happy walking!
