Guesstimate this smoothie please...

Quote  |  Reply

After work I always like to grab a smoothie from this small shop. It's not a chain cafe so I don't know how to check on the calories. Here's what they put in the smoothie:

-Nonfat Strawberry yogurt ice cream

-Strawberries (The ones that come in the jar... I know it's not that healthy, loaded with sugar)

-Ice

So how many calories are we talking here?

How big is a serving? It's impossible to guess at the calories without knowing how much of each they are using ...

Hmm about the size of a tall starbucks

i bet it's at least 400 calories - nonfat frozen strawberry yogurt has approx. 100 calories for a 1/2 cup serving and the canned strawberries are another 115 for 1/2 cup.  A large starbucks is 20 oz...so, if there's

1 1/2 c frozen yogurt      &nb sp;      300 cal

1/2 c canned strawberries     115 cal

1/2 c ice               &nb sp;               &nb sp;       0 cal

total      &nbs p; 2 1/2 c or 20 oz      415 cal

just a guess, maybe more or less depending on the exact ingredients.

have you noticed how much of each ingredient they put in? like how much frozen yogurt? if you can make a guess on the amount then you could probably be able to look up each part & adjust the serving and add it all together to figure it out. i'd go with gertb just to be safe.

yea i'm guessing about 400 calories.. Too big of a splurge for snack =/
