i don't know how many people on here have facebook (or even myspace), but i get SOO bored at work that i spend HOURS on these sites just surf'n around. lately my new thing is to sort of facebook-stalk all the girls i've known from high school and college (the ones who are not my REAL friends and i have not seen in over 1/2 a decade) and see what they look like now. i do this whole comparison thing of myself over the years against them. i feel like it's creepy/sick, but i'm so bored w/ nothing else to do at my desk. anybody else find themselves doing this / getting motivation(secretly competitive) to work harder at your goals b/c of it?

It's not something I do or have done because the girls from school who I don't know today are of no interest.

But if all you are doing is looking to see what they look like and are doing today I don't really see a problem with it.

I've looked up past friends/acquaintances on Facebook before, just to see what they now look like.

I wasn't able to go to my 10 year HS reunion, so I don't do it for motivation purposes, just curiosity, really.

^im with you. Its just curiosity. I dont have a grudge against anyone from my high school. I just like to see what people are doing since we've graduated. I know what you mean though about being bored at work. I have so much filing to get done. I sit on this site, 2 book sites and facebook (myspace is blocked).

LOL facebook is for stalking!  I'm thankful I'm not working right now because I know I wouldn't get anything done because of facebook.  I'm glad I've been able to find old friends from high school because I moved away and didn't look back.  It's been great to get back in touch with everyone.

Everytime I click "Add as Friend" I'm trying to remember if I was ever in a fight with the person, what it was about, and what they're going to think when they see I've friended them.  I wasn't the nicest girl in school!

I loved my job, and then we all got laid off. I am looking for work and considering widening my search and reducing my salary expectations. I'd be so happy just to have a job right now I'd be busy making myself indispensable.  Yeah, I know, we all goof off a little, but I would be kinda worried if I was THAT expendable.

well, i'm not really worried about getting caught slacking at work. i'm currently deployed w/ the military so i'm stuck here whether they want me or not... and whether i want to be here or not. ha. i have a desk job here and i'm really just trying to entertain myself until it's time to go back home to my REAL life. facebook is definitely one of the things that helps me get through the boring days here.

Thank you for your service!

No I don't do that. You are just that weird.
