Hello,

Today I worked out by doing a boot camp class and the eliptical burning a total of 750 calories.  The problem is that I was hungry all day.  I had weight control oatmeal (160 cals) and 1 cup grapes (100 cals) then it went downhill at lunch.  I ate my packed lunch: Egg salad sandwich-guess 180 for bread and 160 for 1/3 cup mixture, a special K granola bar (90 cals) crackers and cheese (240 cals).  I also brought an orange however some coworkers brought in some homemade beef stirfry and some cookies.  I had a few bites of the stir fry, mainyl the veggies, and two oatmeal raisin cookies.  When I got home later I was making dinner and snacking, which I normally do not do, but I did today on some red and yellow peppers and a some Dutch Crunch chips.  I then ate supper, a Betty Crocker roasted veggies casserole about 400 cals and a roll (160 cals).  My husband then talked me into a piece of cake.  I normally take in 1600 calories whether I work out or not, but did I completely blow it today or was my workout enough to cover this madness?

Sorry I wanted to move this up, so I responded myself.
I can't know for sure, but it looks to me like you'll be fine. That was a major work out. At the very least, you probably won't gain any weight. Call it a treat, and try harder tomorrow. :D
Wait, you do the math for me. Count maybe 100 cals for the few bites of stirfry. And 300 for the cake, more if it was a giant piece.

Sounds like you didn't go very much over maintenance, if at all. Save your guilt for non-food related things, please!

I wouldn't worry about it to much, but when your hungary try to eat more healthy foods, not something that is rich in fat. I have the same problem though on days, where even I didn't exercise. Just next time, don't buldge into eating everyone else's food, stick to the foods that you brought, and try to keep a lot of fruits and vegies with you so that when your hungary, you eat the healthy foods.

On days you exercise, you will need more food naturally. I don't think you should feel guilty, just go back to your diet as normal. I occasionally eat stuff I shouldn't. Sometimes it seems the body knows best and asks for things it needs. The other day I got this desire for fried chicken, normally I can avoid it but that day I really wanted some fried chicken. I even had more then I would have normally.

Anyway instead of putting on weight I lost it. So I just put it down to the body needing stuff that is available in Fried chicken :)

Have a great weekend!

You probably took in somewhere around 2200-2300 calories, assuming all your totals were correct.  Not knowing your stats, i'm guessing this is probably close to maintenence for you so don't stress or feel guilty.  Your body needed it.

You need to eat more in the morning, especially after that strenuous a workout.  That's why you felt out of control for the rest of the day.  Eat more substantial early on and you shouldn't have that feeling later on.
