Guilty-Pleasure Songs

Okay, cough up.

I know there's at least one song that you maniacally car-dance to, but only when you're alone -  that's on your mp3 player, only to be played at the gym - that you'd be mortified to be outed about!

Right now, mine's Timbaland's "The Way I Are."  I was a literature major in college.  There is no way I should be able to even give a cursory listen to a song with such a title.  Yet, I find myself scrolling to it every time I plug in my iPod!

any nelly song ever. i know all the words to pretty much every one of his songs. i can't help it. they all make me want to dance like a maniac.

also, "Gimme More" by Britney Spears... when I get a few glasses of wine in me, you can't keep me off the dancefloor when that comes on.

Life is a Highway, sung by Rascal Flatts, and You Shook Me All Night Long by ACDC. I roll down the windows and holler the lyrics at the top of my lungs. I like to do that because it makes other drivers smile and I feel like I've done a good deed.

mine right now is Miley Cyrus I don't remember the name of it but it's her newest one. I am embarrassed just admitting it.

oh yeah, and i will admit, i bought justin timberlake's first solo album, and listened to it every day for more than a couple months. my BGF (best gay friend) turned me onto JT. thanks, sweetie!

There are probably lots of them like that, in various genres.  When my son (23 years old and soooo sophisticated) looks at my ipod he always cringes and gets after me - "Mom, I can't believe you have this!"  After living with The Great Music Critic, I am now pretty much impervious to mortification, but for the sake of this post ---

Let's see, today my most embrassing can be "Walking on Sunshine" - Katrina and the Waves.  Or how about an ENTIRE Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass Band album? 

Even when it comes to embarrassing songs, Meagan manages to throw out a rockin' title like "Bawitdaba."
