Guilty Pleasures. Disgusting Food We Love, but Hate Ourselves After Eating It

Quote  |  Reply

Confess your guilty pleasures when it comes to disgusting food. Me, I love convenient store food...old tuna salad sandwiches and hotdogs.  An old movie theater hotdog is tasty to me and at the same time revolting.  I totally gross out the husband and daughter when I get one. (not anymore of course, but I used to love them).  Dont even get me started on carnival food...

Also, potted meat products, Deviled ham....totally disgusting, but I love them on crackers.  A bologna sandwich.. gross. Made out of leftover parts, but delicious on some Wonder with a slice of cheese to me.

*sighs*....all a part of my past now...gross!

Ok, your turn.  Spill it.

Stale cookies and crackers! Bleh! I pride myself on eating fresh food but sometimes I see this stuff in my pantry and go nuts! Aaand of course, always regret it afterwards.

Glad I'm not the only one!

Before I became a vegetarian, I used to eat the fat off of steaks and stuff and would have a WHOLE t-bone steak to myself in which I would eat EVERYTHING off the bone by hand, no fork, knife or napkin.  It was disgusting.  I used to regret it after I did it but now you would never catch meat on my plate.  Oh and potted meat, deviled ham, etc but right out of the can, not even on anything.

Creamed chip beef!  I am only allowed to have it on the rare occassion I am hung-over!  My fiance' is usually pretty grossed out. Oh, and ANYTHING that comes in the form of a dip or spread.  HMMMM- cheese dip, spinach and artichoke, cheese dip, onion dip, cheese dip, cheese dip, cheese dip Hmmm, I am getting hungry!

Stale popcorn!

garage station chicken salad sandwiches (the pre-packaged stuff) on white bread.

oh, and nacho cheese dip stuff.

I had a blackout cupcake yesterday. I enjoyed every bite.Wink

Edit to add: Oh! the blackout cupcake is not gross. it is just one of those guilty pleasures.

Those little "fake" Hostess donuts.  The ones covered in that weird waxy substance that's supposed to be chocolate.

I dunno how I ever ate the stuff but I used to LOVE raw hotdogs, fried baloney and mayo grilled cheeses, those frozen Swanson "Great Starts" (yeah right) breakfast things... ugh. Was it just me or did anyone else just look at the size of something instead of nutrition content to decide whether or not it would "make you gain weight"?

And then there were Pop Tarts and Totinos Pizza Rolls and Hot Pockets.  None of which are actual food, but I used to eat them anyway.

smoked oysters in the tin, sardines on toast

But I never feel guilty after eating them!!

The heads of neighborhood cats.

Have you seen a cute little black and white kitty with a mole on her chin?  she has been missing for awhile...

^Ewww to all of the above!

Roach coach food, anything from a New Jersey Turnpike rest stop... vending machine sandwiches

Hey now, NJ turnpike are just as gross as every other US highway!  We are always the joke :(

heh, sorry! Didn't mean to bash you Jersey folks but there's really no other options along that whole bloody highway! Without having to pay even more tolls and drive 20 miles outta the way Undecided

The good places are hidden from tourists.  We should have signs!  Well I am a philly/south jersey girl and if you think our turnpike is bad, try visiting Philly!! It is the fattest city in the US!

THere's stuff that I keep eating, even when I decide I don't really like it.

Like Cheese Whiz.  It's not cheese.  It doesn't taste particularly good.  But I can't stop.  And I agree with those fake hostess donuts.

OMG I love pizza rolls!!!!  And Spaghetti O's.

Edit: Spaghetti O's with Meatballs.

Yes, yes - spaghetti o's - I never could figure out if they were yummy or made me want to vomit...

Pop Tarts ARE yummy.  Totally calorific.

Philly is like my 2nd home! ...hence hating the dreaded tpke.

Even more guilty pleasures: Pat's [def not Geno's] 'whiz wit', those giant turkey legs from the ball park, gooey cheesy pretzels, latenight at WaWa! ::drool::
