have you guys discovered Kale chips yet?

Quote  |  Reply

edit: i also just found out that kale chips have more calcium than milk!! and it also has all the nutrients needed for your bones to absorb the calcium, if you add a little fat to it [olive oil]!!

if someone were to close your eyes and put one in your mouth you would think you had discovered an ultra-crispy potato chip

they are soo yummy

you just get some kale [grocery store, somewhere near the lettuce] and bake it the oven for about 10 minutes until it crisps up

and season with whatever flavoring you like!! [ i like a little salt and vinegar]

at first they're a bit weird but after a while you start craving that crunch more than you crave potato chips

and you're eating vegetables, getting lots of nutrients, protein and fibre

and it's only 30 calories for 130 grams! which is quite a bit!

perfect snack for movie nights!

Good points

I haven't tried kale, but I'm guessing the end result is similar to seasoned laver (seaweed). I completely replace chips with seaweed because I'm really only craving the crispiness and salt, and it's only like 10 calories per package.

My son loves seaweed!  I don't mind the flavor but I hate the smell.

I always tease him that he is an algae eater.  :)

I will have to try the kale though.  It might be OK.  I am not much a chips person, but since I started dieting I have more interest in mindless munching than ever before.  A low calorie mindless munch might be just what i need.

Made some tonight. An entire bunch for me, my boyfriend and our friend. Olive oil, sea salt and apple cider vinegar. They were INCREDIBLE! Even the boys loved them. YUM! :D
