How do you guys feel about coffee?
So here's my story:
I used to be an avid drinker. Like 1-2 cups a day. When I hit my high stress period (end of semester), that bumps to 3-4. Then I realized that maybe I was addicted, so I stopped drinking coffee altogether for about 2 months and found that it was ok.
THEN, I did my "lifestyle change" here on CC (WOOHOO!), eating healthy, exercising. But then my end of semester came and I started coffee again and in no time, I was drinking 4x again. That ranges from 1.5-2cups of coffee each time btw.
And I began to feel SO BLOATED.
Anyway, what do you guys think of coffee...good for u? bad for u? fine in moderation? makes ure teeth brown?
ideas?

I like a cup of joe every morning. I feel energized and great. I like coffee. I can have just one cup or I can have just few cups - either way, I like coffee and it doesn't effect me unless I drink it on an empty stomach. I think it is great in moderation, so drink a few cups - I know it has proven health benefits!
i love coffee. i have 2-3 cups at home every morning (fair trade, shade grown, organic, and strong) and that's it. very rarely i will have a latte in the afternoon, but lately i've been substituting green tea when i feel that urge; i really just want something warm, and tea is just as satisfying and much cheaper!
coffee = life.
I used to drink a cup or two every morning, but I've had to stop because I've found that it really suppresses my appetite. I find it hard to eat breakfast when I drink it. I'm trying to gain weight now, so no more coffee until I get my appetite back. :( Which is a shame, because I loves my coffee.
Coffee in moderation is fine. The stuff I put in it, much less so. Because I can't stand coffee black, it's gotta just be an occasional treat for me.
I'm a big Dr. Oz fan and in his last book "you on a diet" he says to drink up! The caffine is a boost to the metabolism and it is full of antioxidants. I have not heard this before but now Im drinking coffee more and feeling good about it.
I love coffee and drink it all the time. I don't even think of it in a light of being "unhealthy" at all. Its jut caffiene.
I don't really notice a difference one way or the other. If it makes you feel bloated try drinking more water to compensate. I try not to drink any caffeine after 5 or 6 o'clock, just one less reason to toss and turn at night.
For a long time I was not able to drink regular coffee because the caffeine did me no good but I started to drink a small cup of dunkin donuts coffee about a half an hour before i go to the gym and it gives me the energy that I need to have a great workout without getting tired and lazy.
i ADORE coffee. first thing i do in the morning is stumble to my coffee maker and brew up a pot. i like my coffee with cream or coffee mate and a little sugar. terrible i know, but it's my daily treat, and i count it in my calories. i have no desire to give it up! i have been trying to reduce the amount of sugar i put in at least though. mmmm coffeeeeee....
oh wow, i was actually starting to feel really guilty about coffee to (as i sip on my starbucks latte) but its good to hear that its not all bad!! I really dont' drink much more than one cup a day and none on the weekends! I love and respect Dr Oz to so i'm even happier to here that he suggests drinking up!!

If i didn't have a cup every morning of good strong coffee i would not function.
I love coffe but only one strong cup:)
Lol,
Amy:)

Have a cup of every morning with a packet of splenda and international delights creamer. A whopping 54 calories. And this site does give black filtered coffee a B on it's grading scale.
I stumble to the kitchen every morning, pour a cup of leftover coffee, put in skim milk, and nuke it. After 3 or 4 cups I'm ready to have breakfast.

I was never a big coffee drinker..maybe 1 or 2 cups twice a year if that. Lately I find myself wanting coffee alot. 1 packet of sugar substitute and 1 packet of non-dairy creamer. It's like 30 calories but I always end up drinking more than 1 when I drink it which has gone from maybe twice a year to once a week.
i have at least 2 large black coffees everyday... i'm going to say on average it's at least 6 cups. i love coffee.
I think anything that artificially alters your mood is bad for you. It is addictive, so I just think it should be avoided. The human body is built to tell you when it needs something, so don't try to turn off the alarms with coffee. Listen to your body. If you're feeling tired, then you probably need more vitamins or protein, or just more sleep.
I think it's fine in moderation. If I feel like I'm getting too much caffeine I cut back by mixing half decaf and half regular.
I like one mug of coffee with skim milk and a packet of splenda (or a tsp of sugar free caramel "syrup") every morning, but that's it. I also drink about 100oz of water a day, and I feel fine.
When I was in grad school, I didn't drink as much water and found myself consuming 4-5 cups a day--the more I drank, the more I wanted, and the less "awake" I'd feel. I quit "cold turkey" for about 6 months, and then allowed myself the one mug a morning. Some mornings I skip it, and am "OK," but there's just something about the smell, the warmth of the mug in my hands, and the taste. I like it! :D
I suppose for each person it is different, but my doctor doesn't have a problem with me drinking a cup a day, especially since I don't drink pop (or soda, as we called it in the South) and consume so much water.

i just had my first cup of coffee today. i had sipped my dad's before and didn't like it. but today i decided to try it again and LOVE IT!!! i don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing though. i do feel much more energized but i don't want my teeth turning brown. oh well.
