I posted that topic on the general boards. I'm wondering what your opinion is? CC told me to eat 1401 calories a day. I'm not sure if i should go that low, but I was trying for 1500 and I kept winding up binging. not every day, but often, and I've been the same weight for months.I really want to get over this bump in the road.

well if youa re not losing weight with what you are doing then you either need to drop some calories or exercise more.......I think 1400 is probably fine, but you should also consider your activity level. And those times you realize you are low don't binge.......just choose a sensible snack to up it some.

Are you tracking your food?  Using the tools on this site is very beneficial because you can see the foods you have a tendency to go for when you feel "hungry" or "binge".

Eating walnuts are a good source of snack.

I've just got back into CC, so now I am. Before I was pretty much estimating my calories, and then I tried counting them. CC is really helpful so far, because I like to have a log.

I had been exercising a lot, but i'm pretty sure if I exercise even more and lower the calories It will help. I've been trying it the past few days, and I don't think I've ever felt so healthy.

I go for carbohydrates when I binge. I had a very severe binge eating disorder from the time I was about 13---16. I'd eat insane amounts of carbs, as in a bagel(covered in butter or creamcheese, or both, with lox), a soft pretzel(with tons of pretzel cheese), mini pretzels, a huge bowl of cereal(sometimes two) and some popcorn in one sitting. (I never purged though)

Most of the last half of last year, and this year, i've managed to get it mostly under control. When i do get the urges I do eat less, and I feel like it's me doing the action, so i feel really good about that.

Thanks for all the support. :)

Have any of you tried making a snack mix? I'd use walnuts like Njakamarilyn suggested and maybe some raisins and other things.

I do with nuts and dried fruits...be careful with those lots of them add sugar, just use the ones that are fruit only. I then portion them out so I dont go crazy with them, cuz they are yummy and it is easy to go overboard! LOL learned that the hard way.

I just had another thought. I'm rather young---18. would that change what I need to eat? The 1400 seems to be working, and it's about what i can eat in a day anyway.
