Guys. You've heard it a million times, but check it.
Hey
I know most of you will be familiar with the point that we young'uns burn more calories, but I never realised just how large the difference can be. This link has been on Pandajen's 'rules for the forum' post, which is where I found it, but I know some people (me included until this afternoon) never get round to using the links on it.
What I want to know is this - were you surprised when you saw how many calories you need to maintain your weight?
Calculator and calorie information for Teens
Using the adult tools on CC+, I was told I needed 1900 calories. On the teen site, it says I need 3100!!! Guys, all of you please, just check it - these growing muscles need food!
blasphemy!

but thanks for trying to help! : D
Try this one:
calculator
It will tell you your BMI as well as the amount of calories that you need.
Or you can go to www.kidsnutrition.org and scroll down to the bottom right hand side and you will see both calculators. :)

you know I'm going to try this, if you subtract 500 cals off thats a lb a week so to lose a lb a week I would need 1900 cals. That is ridiculous but lets try this method out.
try 1800. &i mean c'mon, when i start dieting the weight doesnt come off for a few weeks. it takes like 3 weeks then i'll lose like 4 pounds. so yeah try it out. but give it a bit of time
Original Post by shanonna:
2400 - 500 is 1900 not 1800.
yea, i know. but, if i were you i'd try 1800 :)
1810
i really don't burn much lol. but i guess i'm good; i usually eat around there.
