so the gym is closed for 2 days - what do I do?
My gym is closed today and tomorrow because of a public holiday. I normally go everyday and burn about 500-800 cals. I'd really like to go today since I went out last night and drunk a bit to much! My question is: are there any exercises I can do in my room? I know I wont burn anything like that but I've been working on an essay all day and feel very lethargic. I can't run outside because bad ankles mean I can't run on the road - and it's pouring with rain (that's Scotland for you....) I can do some yoga, but would ideally like to do a bit more than that. Suggestions please!!!!

If there are stairs in your house, go up and down them for as long as you can. Do free weights (with cans if you don't have weights) and floor exercises like push ups, sit ups, squats, leg lifts, jumping jacks (if your ankles can handle it), etc.

A two-day break really won't hurt you, even if you did go out drinking last night! Your body might even thank you for it... it's not really good to push your body EVERY day of the week - it needs a break now and then so your muscles can recover. If the rain lets up, go for a walk and call it a day. :)
I agree everyday is too much, especially since you're obviously doing high intensity stuff to burn 500-800 calories. If you feel like just getting up and doing something, maybe dance to some music.
Thanks for the comments guys, I guess you're right really! Think I'll do some weights today and maybe a walk. I need a break before hitting the gym tomorrow!

if you have a bike you could go for a bike ride, 1 hr at a moderate pace on a bike burns around 500 cal. depending on your weight. but like it said above it won't hurt you to take a day or two off either :)
