I'm really trying to do all i can to get off the winter weight i gained.. i wanna lose from 15-25 pounds.. 15 pounds gets me back to where i was before winter... at 125. and 25 gets me to my goal weight.

Ive started back up at the gym, and eating more to lose weight cuz i was too low.

Ive went the past 2 days in a row..question is.. do u think i should go today?? or wait til tomorrow?.. or go both?

i dont know if it makes a difference to go everyday or if thats bad.

someone clue me in please :)

If you want to go then go - if not, one day is not really going to hurt - I only do 5 days a week and am still losing.

Some people say that the body quite likes one day to recover from exercise - yet others say its better to go every day - the best idea is just to listen to your body

Yeah like i feel chunky to myself still so i WANT to go every day cuz i wake up and am like. wow this is me? i have to go to the gym. but i kno one day doesnt make a HUGE difference. but it helps. but i went monday tuesday.. maybe ill see how i feel after work. i just feel absolutly gross today, and think id feel better (at least positve wise) if i go. i just know its better to give u body rest, like you said.

i think i prefer the gym alone too. yesterday i brought my friend, and it was her first time in a long time, & she couldnt handle staying on anything more than ten minutues, we were there like an hour and something, but i only got to burn about 250 instead of my 500 i aim for.

we were on separate machines most times, its just i felt bad didnt want her to over do it her first day back

im just kinda afraid if i DONT go today, i will somehow put off going tomorrow, and so on. cuz i used to be like that. but now im REALLY serious bout getting this weight off.

that was the same question i had a while ago but i was to lazy to ask and just went to the gym just about everyday. the only days i take off is when my body is too sore to do anything; otherwise i go. with weight training you should deffinently try to do every other day so that your muscles can repair the next day, unless you are doing very mild weight training. if your muscles aren't sore the next day then i would just keep doing it everyday. i lift weights so that i can feel the burn the next day and i eat enough protien to repair the torn muscle tissue. i think cardio is alright to do just about everyday, but i would give my legs a break once the muscles start aching a little to much.

 

I would go every day - but then my social life would REALLY suffer! On a normal weekday - Im out the house at 7.30am and back home at 7pm - add in the gym and shower - thats 8.30-9pm. If I went every night, I wouldnt see anyone! 

This is my schedule

  • Monday - Exercise Bike - 30 mins
  • Tuesday - Gym - 60 mins
  • Weds - Day off if going out - if not, toning work
  • Thursday - Gym - 60 mins
  • Friday - Day Off
  • Saturday - Tae Bo/Boxaerobics - 30/60 mins
  • Sunday - Tae Bo/Boxaerobics - 30/60 mins

That seems to work.

I know what your saying about feeling rubbish when you see yourself - on days I know im not exercising I wake up feeling really rubbish - but then as the day goes on I feel better knowing that I feel I have the personal/social balance right for me

I used to go and do a full workout every day until my personal trainer said that it wasnt healthy for me.  But he also said that if I felt I must go, (more because of the high I got from excercising) then to work on different muscles each day.  This way it would give the muscles a rest.  so one day I worked my arms and the next I would focus on the legs.  I did cardio everyday.  If you feel like going everyday, then do so. 

I go everyday... sometimes twice a day.  It its twice a day it cause I want to take a yoga class at night, which isn't too strenuous.  I  I'm a fitness freak what can I say.  If I were you I would focus on weight training more than cardio.
