Hey guys,

I am trying to join a gym, but finding it is out of my budget at the moment. Can anyone recommend a workout video?? Thanks!

It really depends on what you like to do.  I started with tae bo.  If you google workout videos, I think one of the top searches will be collage video( I think that's what it's called)  Anyway, they have tons of videos to pick from based on what you are interested in and your fitness level.

I'm actually not really sure. I live in NYC so I walk a lot.  I am not in great shape, but I can handle quite a bit actually. I want something that kicks my butt. I was thinking a yoga video to start with. I know it is supposed to be great for the mind, body, and soul. Also something cardio based.

I like the turbo jam videos. The host is another perky blond lady, but for some reason she's not as cloying or robotic as the hosts of other videos. She's a little silly and self-deprecating(?), I guess.

They have cardio and strength training videos, and abs, of different lengths.

They will def kick your butt, too. I was in pretty decent shape, running like 10 mi a week, and I couldn't do the whole thing (modify!) for the first few go-throughs.

I second the Turbo Jam thing. Those videos are fun as hell and always leaved me drenched and tired. The music is hella good too. I use Turbo Jam for my workouts, and thus far, nothing else is really as good as it is. Seriously.

P90X will also kick your butt, but it's a lot more serious and well.. extreme then Turbo Jam is. I'm not a big fan of the workouts, but if you're not really into the style of Turbo Jam, you might dig it.

:D

G'luck with your quest for a workout video, I hope you find one that you enjoy!

I recommend going to your local library and just check out a variety of vids/ dvds and see what you like then invest- or go to a video rental store.  I find if I buy dvd's they just gather dust after a couple uses.

I would also suggest check into a local community / jr college.  THat is what I do- for $52 a 16 week class is pretty cheap.  Depends on what your cost per credit hour but its still gotta be cheaper than a gym.

the tye bo advanced tape is really good!  i love it
