Hair drying procedure
Am always confused on which one is the right way to dry the hair after bath...
1) Use a towel till it is dry. But some says this would increase hair falls.
2) Use Hair dryer in warm mode
3) Use Hair dryer in cool air mode
4) Pat dry the hair with a towel slowly. This is time consuming.
5) Pat dry the hair with a towel first and then let it dry naturally.
If there is any other better way, please let me know...
I've heard mixed messages myself.... it's hard to say.
I tend to quickly towel dry my hair. It shouldn't be dripping wet when you start. If I have time I will walk around the house getting ready until my hair starts drying just a little bit. Then I flip my hair and dry until I have time.
I think the conesnsus is that if you blast really wet dripping hair with high heat it's not good. So it's better to towel dry it well and maybe start with warm until it gets even less wet. Then you should blast on high to set the style.
What I do to reduce frizz and hair damage (which is especially important with curly hair) is give my hair a final rinse in cold water before I leave the shower, to seal the cuticle.
I then squeeze the excess water out of my hair, and wrap it in either a microfibre hair towel or an old t-shirt. The shirt helps to reduce frizz, but I find the towel absorbs more water. Make sure you SQUEEZE the water out, not rub it out, as rubbing can damage the hair cuticle.
Put a small amount of leave-in conditioner in and use a hair pick or wide-tooth comb to distribute evenly. If you need your hair to dry quickly, you can dry your hair with a blowdryer, but make sure it's on low heat, and don't dry completely.
Ladies: if you blowdry your hair upside down, you'll get more volume at the roots.
