When will my hair stop falling out!?
I started losing weight about 6 months ago and stopped really strict dieting about 2 and a half months ago and my hair still falls out like crazy! (It used to be thick, but now my ponytail is like have the size it used to be) Will ever stop? Has anyone else had this problem?
That happened to me during my freshman year, and it was because I wasn't eating a balanced diet. I don't know your age or what kind of diet you're having, but that's what happened to me. My hair has thickened back out in the past few years.
I hope that helps!
This happened to me about 6 years ago. I lost a lot of weight very quickly and my hair began to fall out. My hair never came back, but the fall out rate is now normal. I would see a doctor just to eliminate the possibility of other underlying issues.
My hair constantly is falling out...because I have an eating disorder. From what I understand, hair loss is mainly caused by a lack of fat, and a lack of enough calories. Your body doesn't have enough energy (calories) to sustain hair growth. Fat is also very good for your skin, hair and nails. I don't know how much good this will do, but they do make vitamins for your hair/skin/nails. I think it contains biotin and some other vitamins/nutrients.
That happened to me when I started loosing weight and would probably still be happening but I started taking Hair, Skin, and Nail Vitamins and I really noticed it helped.
When it happened to me it was down to stress during my finals and when my thyroid packed up. I'd go to the doctor if i were you.
Do you also notice that your nails are very brittle? You have a severe lack of fat in your diet. Add some healthy fats back in the best are the unsaturated variety. Try foods like avocados, olive oil, nuts, and fish. These are healthier, leaner fats than things like butter, etc.
To be quite honest with you, it will take you a while to see results. First your body will repair whatever inside damage has been done to it, and then it will start to grow new, healthier hair. so what ever is on your hair now you will not get healthier or shinier, but you will start to see at your roots new growth that looks healthier and shinier.
I joined CC in March '08 and in June I started to notice my hair falling out. It lasted several months (~4 months) and after I noticed it happening, I upped my calories. The hair loss slowed down in the fall but then I just started noticing more coming out again this month and I eat ~1800-2000+ cal's/day. I'm wondering if it's a "time of the year" thing with me now. I also take a multi-vitamin daily specifically for hair, skin, and nails. Keep eating a balanced diet and the hair loss should slow down soon. Good luck.
my hair like halfed the amount a couple months ago, but because i lost a lot of weight unhealthily, and as soon as i started eating properly, it started to grow back and now i have tuffs of hair on top of my head haha
