ok. I am struggling here. I keep eating my daughters candy! She can't have the stuff with nuts and instead of throwing it away, i've been eating a couple of peices a night!!! HELP Im drowning. Please, encourage me, I need some will power here!
You have a few different options.
1) The easiest - throw it out.
2) Give it to a homeless shelter
3) Give it to a kid in your neighborhood who you know, who would trust taking candy from you.
4) Give it to another family member who can eat nuts
Use your willpower! It's in you, you just have to tap into it. You'll feel so much better about yourself if you resist!
I made myself a deal for Halloween. I would indulge in the candy on Halloween night and not count calories but not make myself sick or anything providing I was back on the bandwagon the next day and it's worked so far for me. You can still have candy on a healthy diet, some people have one piece a day as long as you save calories and fat for it.
Just remember how good you feel when you eat healthy. I had a bit of a yucky feeling in my intestines the next day from the candy so that was even more motivation to stay away from it until Christmas.
Don't lose hope!
5) Collect them, bring them to work, let the coworkers eat them.
That's what we did with our leftover candy.
I have a fun sized hershey bar every night...if I can keep it within my caloric intake, then I will eat it. If it puts me over, then I just know I can't have it. I try to weigh out what's more important...my weight loss and fitness or the candy.
I yanked out a few little mini size candy for me so I can have a few a night for a couple of nights. We took some out for my little guy for the next couple of days and my wife took the rest to her work today so it's out of the house. I don't want my son to have all that at his disposal and teach him the habits I was taught. I am determined to break that cycle with my son... we'll see... lol.
My son got 3 huge pumpkins full of ALL the good chocolate and even some whole candy bars! We went through it all last night and I let him keep some of what he wanted and the rest I brought to work and put it in a different floor's breakroom.
If you are really and truly only eating a couple of pieces (2 or 3) per night, I would say just incorporate it into your calories and get on with life. Yes, you should do your best to eat healthy, but you can't freak out because you ate a piece of candy. It's not the end of the world, just make sure you count the calories. Or throw it away.
just one or two mini candies a night. I just got my a1c back and Im in normal range again (yeah... 5.2) but that is just encouraging my candy issue. If I can stay at a normal blood sugar range and eat candy, then why not, right? bad reasoning, I know. I am hoping once there isn't any more around, I'll quit again. I get so sick when I eat that stuff, too. Oh well, Thanks for all the suggestions!
Tonight I am going to have a couple of those mini Nestle Crunches with PB and then the Halloween candy will be gone and i'll be left with healthy choices again.
This is why I tell people all the time that a lot of your weight loss battle is fought at the grocery store because if it's not in the house then you can't eat it.
I know it's kinda weird, but what I did was chew the candy for the flavor then spit it back out. I know it doesn't seem right, but I didn't feel bad afterwards like I would have if I had eaten the candy. Well I did until just yesterday I learned that you get the calories anyways. . .
send it over seas to a lonely soldier
That's actually a good idea. Both my parents have been over there and they say they love receiving gifts, it doesn't matter if they hate it either. They say they like to know people are thinking about them.
i was there for a year, i loved gettin stuff from people i didn't know. showed i was appreciated
If you really want to help send bug repelent, camel spiders 4tw.
Take it to work. It'll be gone in 5 minutes.
this may be controversial, but i don't think rationing yourself is a good idea. yes, one or two a day won't have a big impact on your caloric intake, but the longer you do that, the more it becomes a habit. you start to feel like you need a little something. i say either give it away or eat it as fast as you can!
Don't stress, just pick it all up and throw it away.
I remember on Halloween I didn't eat like the whole day so I could pig out on candy at night :P But I told my mom to hide the rest.
i made sure i gave out the candy that i liked to the trick or treaters first so now all we have left is candy i cant stand. haha
dont throw it away, thats just a waste. give it to a family member, hide it until next halloween or take it to work.....i find coworkers looovvveeee candy treats lol
