I need ideas. I'm a poor college student and i'd rather be creative than spend a fortune so do you have any ideas?

I was thinking a purple skittle and i'd just wear purple booty shorts, a purple tank with a white S on it and "skittles taste the rainbow" on the back with white shoes.

I was also thinking a cowgirl.

any other ideas?

I'm only suggesting this because I just happened to be thinking about it today and I would totally wear it:

If you have a boyfriend or a really close male friend, you guys could go as Lady and the Tramp by both wearing the respective dog ears.  Then you could wear a pretty formal dress (I was thinking old prom dress) and he could dress like a hobo.  It just sounded cute to me, plus as long you already have a dress, the only thing you'd have to spring for would be some dog ears.  Not sure how hard it would be to find them, though...

is there a goodwill or salvation army near you? i've found SO many of my costumes at places like that. maybe you could go browse and get some inspiration that way.

If you want REALLY cheap you can always grab a white sheet and wrap it around yourself "toga-style" and put a gold leaf crown on yourself and go as a greek goddess :)

My SO and I went to a party Saturday - I was a jellyfish.  I won the costume contest.  It's cheap and easy to make and lots of fun.  I added lots of sparkly eye makeup.  Sorry I can't post photos - naturist partyWink, but I can tell you how to make the costume if you like.  You can wear swimsuit or body stocking.

I mentioned this in another thread.  While I was studying abroad in Rome, my school had a Halloween party for us (Italians don't celebrate Halloween), and we were supposed to have costumes.  Since there aren't and places like Walmart, I had to get really creative.  I ended up going as a magic eight ball.

I wore all black.

I found an old white t-shirt I had brought with me and cut out a circle.

I drew an 8 on the circle.

I found some safety pins and pinned the 8 onto my shirt.

I printed out all of the "responses" of the magic 8 ball, cut them up, and put them in a little pouch.

All night long people asked me questions and fished their answers out of the pouch.

It was really fun!
