halloween costumes!!!

hey everyone! since halloween is pretty close i thought it would be fun if everyone posted what they were going to be, if anything, for halloween/describe their costumes/give suggestions...etc

i am going to be shakira and i havent found a costume yet! i am freaking out a little because  i already had my costume like 3 months before last year! (what can i say i love halloween)

I'm thinking of being a witch... but like a real witch, the Salem Witch Trials kind.  I figure I'll wear old-fashioned clothes and call myself Goody Proctor, like in the Crucible.  I'm having a dinner party at my new house which is a spooky old house so this should be good.   Maybe I can have a cauldron.

I wanted to be a gogo girl but my mom said its too whore-ish to go to our highschool halloween dance as that but now i'm thinking as going in a mardi gra theme

any good ideas??

p.s where can I find Mardi Gra Beads????? I found one pack at wal-mart

annie3---the oriental trading post sells a ton of cheap little things like mardi gras beads. we used to get a ton of things like that for favors for high school dances. they def. have a website im just not postive what it is (google lol)

 i love the witch idea.....thats one of my favorite books. ive been to salem probably 4 times....its awesome

aaaah I can't decide. I haven't even come up with ideas! Party City has mardi gras like beads.

Go to any party store or dollar store, they're bound to have beads.

I'm thinking dressing up as a emo/rock/punk guitarist. But that might not be much dressing up. So maybe as Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday?

if you saw the movie i tried to imitate the don juan outfit she wears....black corset with with frilly t-shirt underneath, a long gold skirt and red flower hair clip :)

I actually have a jean jacket (although mine is black/gray), neck collar, red plaid skirt, black kinky boots and fishnet stocking. Only prop I need is a guitar... And I'm Asian. Do you think that might not work with black hair and all?? (and the fact that I don't look like Lindsay Lohan?? lol, that's probably a good thing..)

Btw, I loved Phantom of the Opera. Both broadway and movie. I must have watched the movie more than 100 times!!! My roommate's bf couldn't stand it anymore and jokingly said he would break my dvd if I played it once more.
Oh man, I love all the songs!!! That's some awesome choice but I don't think I can pull that off, so good job~!!

i'm gonna be elly may clampett from the beverly hillbillies! jean cut off shorts with a rope belt, plaid shirt, silly blond wig with poufy bangs and pig tails, and of course, some sort of stuffed critter to carry around!

I think the best costume idea I've heard so far is Goldilock and the 3 bears. The 3 bears being CHICAGO bears (in jerseys).

annie3 - so your mom doesn't approve of a gogo girl, but does of an event that encourages drunk girls to flash their boobies in public!? Weird! :-P  (PS - Leg Avenue has some cute 60s gogo outfits that are not in the least bit "whoreish")

I'm trying to figure out how I want to do Mystique (blue chick from Xmen), and then I also want to do a hot Dick Tracy.

I like the Dick Tracy idea better :)

I'm hoping to go out/work three times during the weekend/Halloween day....so I'll need a different costume each night :-D

i'm going to a concert that night :-)  i'll probably go as Trinity from the Matrix (all in black, long shiny black trench coat, sunglasses) or as a cheerleader.

any other ideas for something that's comfortable for standing and dancing, and not too revealing?

Oh man! I better get choosing...my best costume ever was "baby" from House of 1000 Corpses. I had a blond wig and jeans and boots and a plaid flannel shirt all tied up. Of course, most people thought I was Ellie May from the Beverly Hillbillies, but a few people got it..

I prefer creepy/gory costumes...hmmm...

So I know this is completely random, but I'm thinking about going as a "Serial (Cereal) Flasher". The idea is, I'll wear this long black trench-type coat I have with seemingly nothing underneath, but when I open it to "flash" people, I'll be wearing an assortment of cereal boxes! This is all in theory of course...I'll have to see if it works out. 

carinosa, I think thats a great idea as long as you can keep your cereal boxes together on you. Are you going to maybe glue the outside cover to a dress base or something?
