20 Pounds by Halloween!
Ok ok, I know more than a pound a week is not healthy but 20 pounds is just a goal, if I lose 10-15 by Oct 31st I’ll be happy ![]()
I will use this post to do daily logs of what I’m eating and weekly weigh in’s!
If anyone wants to join for support post me!
DAY 1 – SEP 17TH
Breakfast – Slimfast 190 Calories
Snack – Pear 60 Calories
Lunch - Slimfast 190 Calories
Snack – Air popped popcorn (no butter) 150 Calories
Dinner – Whole wheat tortilla with grilled chicken, avocado and brown rice – 500 Calories
Desert – Weight watchers ice cream bar – 100 calories
Daily total – 1190!

Alright you need some help here.
Rule number 1: NEVER EAT BELOW 1200 CALORIES. This limit is set because that is how much energy your body uses to fuel its organs. DO NOT EAT BELOW 1200 DO NOT EAT BELOW 1200. Never ever forget that.
Rule number 2: It is unhealthy to lose over 2 pounds a week. Sometimes it may happen randomly without you really doing anything different.. but you should never AIM to lose over 2 a week. That's unrealistic.
20 pounds in a month is not a good goal to set for yourself. It will only lead to disappointment and unhealthy habits.
Just a thought.....
Those slimfast thingys are 190 calories each. Do you know how much healthy vegetables you can eat for 190 calories? Probably fill ya up a lot more too! Seems like a waste to me....Just my opinion ![]()

Breakfast:
Breakfast scramble: 1 c. boca crumbles, 1 small red potato, 1 c. onions and peppers mix, 1/4 fresh onions, 1/2 Tbsp. safflower oil (300)
Lunch: Sushi - oh goodness, I had five plates (3 pieces each) (1000-1500??)
Dinner: Something very light
Workout: walking the hills of my apartment and we are going to do the really big hill several times. My toe is broken so my workouts are limited to those I can complete wearing flip flops.
Slim-fast is really filling actually, plus I have a major major
sweet tooth so they really help to curve cravings, if I ate a ton of veggies I would still want a slim-fast or somthing sweet!
Jackattack - I'm only 10 calories under 1200 so ill eat an extra handful of popcorn ;)
Also I actually started dieting around Sep. 2nd so that gives me 2 months to lose 20 lbs, so about 2 pounds a week!
I'll join! I would like to obtain the goal of 20lbs by Halloween! I started my diet on Tues 9/9/08 and as of today have lost 7.4lbs.
So that leaves me 13lbs to go, very obtainable in 6wks I would think. I'm sure that will slow down now but I don't mind reaching for the stars!

Breakfast- Diet Red Bull=10cal Fiber one Bar=140cal
Lunch- Del Monte lite Peaches=25cal WW cheese snack=45cal
Dinner- Don't know yet!
Snacks- Doritos=100cal
My calorie intake has been about like yours, just slightly under 1200. However, there have been a couple of days that I was slightly over. I think the key is to average out for the week. It's ok to be a little low on somedays and a little over on others. It's almost impossible to be exact every day...at least it is for me!

I will join too. I started on Sept. 6th I actually don't have a scale anymore so my goal will just be to stay in my calorie range the entire time. 1300-1500 a day is my goal.
Breakfast: 220 Slimfast and rice milk ( I was not hungry at all this morning and I find these help a lot.
Lunch Dibs 380 bad impulse buy, Shiittake mushrooms 81, miso soup 35, baby carrots and raw veggies dipped in dressing 173
Dinner: 3 slices bacon 103, 2 egg whites 32, 1 large egg 72
Snack Cottage Cheese 220
Total 1314
I will join you on your quest..I think I need that extra motivation and support too. I lost weight in the beginning and I was really diligent, but over the summer I got a bit too relaxed with my eating. It is great that you have a goal. I am going to try to lose that 2lbs a week until Halloween. Which would be awesome.
I am going to start today;
Breakfast:
1/2 Natures Path Optimum Bar/ starbucks coffee with milk 150cal
Strawberry Banana Protein Shake 250cal
Lunch
cottage cheese low fat, necturine, 1tbsp of mixed nuts, 1 tbsp of fr. vanilla nf yogurt 250cal
for snack: cinnamon cottage cheese and apple150cal
For Dinner I plan to have:
Chicken breast, brocolli, 1/4 cup brown rice, mixed green salad with balsamic vinegar.
350cal
apple for snack 70cal
I have to remember to drink lots of water too.
Exercise:30-40 min run

okay I will see if I can stick to this goal and the daily log in with my food intake. i have tried before and failed at it. my man is gone for about three weeks so it will be interesting to see how I do without him being around to taunt me with the sweet and salty snacks he loves.

I am not obsessed with losing the weight... I actully like my body except for my belly. I am very active considering I work banquets at a resort which is physically demanding.

I would love to join also! I just started my diet on Sep 14th..this past Sunday and just weighed myself today and I have already lost 9 lbs! I really don't see how I could of lost 9 lbs in 3 days! lol Most of that must be water. Im diffently going to stick to this goal.

Breakfast: Egg Sandwich: 1 egg w/1 white scrambled/folded, 2 slices light toast (185)
Lunch: Sonic Santa Fe grilled chicken salad w/light ranch (GROSS!) (505)
Dinner: Bean and Rice burrito: lighten up whole grain tortilla, 1/3 c. black beans, 1/4 c. brown rice, 2 Tbsp salsa, 1 plum tomato, 2 Tbsp ff sour cream (300)
2 kiwi fruit (105)
Snack: (if I feel like one)
1 bag 100 calorie popcorn (100)
Total: 1195
I WILL workout tonight, too! Well, unless I go on a date. That's about 50/50 right now.

Not to be a jerk but you are seriously under eating unless you're like 4 ft tall. You won't loose the weight you want like that, instead your bodies going to hoard it. Then when you eat something resembleing real food you are going to balloon. Being 10 calories under 1200 is no big seal, but 500? That nuts, and not very sustainable.

I saw that too elfbane5 sorry to have to comment too stephaineasb but that is really unhealthy.You should not go under 1200 calories period.And I have to totally agree with elfbane5 because once you start craving real food your gonna bllow up .It is best to start your new eating lifestyle by eating in moderations and making healthy choices.Don't starve yourself.Read my bio and you will understand.

I can totally understand, BUT... you won't maintain once you go to "maintenence". Your body will think you are starving and lock down your food. You are loosing muscle and bone density, and of course fat, but I'm not kidding, you could actually trigger organ failure with that kind of diet. Don't be suprised when you have the same problem as someone who has an ED when they go into recovery.
Just seriously consider it, ok? You are playing with a loaded gun. :/
