Halva - Does anyone know anything about it?
I just tried Halva and I absolutely love it!
Only problem is that I can't seem to find out from anywhere it's calorie content. I suspect it is bad for you as it is sweet and so yummy but I'm not sure. Does anyone know?

It's very delicious. I like the Russian one made from sun flower seeds. Oh yeah it's very, very calorie dense: 100g have around 400-550 calories.
Thanks for your reply - yes it's the Russian on that I like! How very annoying it is so calorific!
Halva is the best!
Being Greek i used to eat sooo much of it when we were fasting from meat and dairy.
It is made up of sugar and sesame seeds, so yes, very calorie dense.
Also depending on what flavour it is, there are the added calories of either cocoa, vanilla, peanuts etc etc.
We sell halva at my work so i can get the nutritional value for you tomorrow when im working :)
That's kind of you aneets88 - thanks! Although I am kind of dreading the information :)

The pistachio ones are very delicious also. Maybe the best thing to do is learn how to make it and then just eat that. This way you can control what you put in.
Oh man I LOVE halva! My family is Syrian and we used to eat it all the time but it's completely made out of sugar, so, lots of calories :( But oh so delicious lol...
