I always wonder about these things, like who really is gonna buy a burger and keep it for 12 years??

ummm so i already dont eat mickey D's .. but i live right beside one and sometimes i still crave it... but after that... i dont think i will ever eat a mc donalds hamburger ever again, i might get a salad and bring my own dressing if my boyfriend wont get me something from somewhere else...but ew...never again.

She must have had it in the freezer or else the bun would be all molded.  I'm not sure I belive this anyway. I think I'll go buy one and do the experiment myself.. check back with ya in 12 yrs..

That's just plain scary!

I gave up McD's a few years ago after reading Fast Food Nation.  I did lapse once, but was violently sick afterwards....that was enough to keep me from ever going back!!

I'm not buying it because there would have to be some mole somewhere.  I don't think there's any wayaht it could possibly look exactly as it did when it was allegedly purchased.  I can't remember the last time I ate at McDonalds.  I've been at my new job for six months and there's no McDonalds convenient to here so I wouldn't be tempted.  If I did eat there I'd probably get a salad and bring my own dressing, but I'm also thinking that once I get to my goal weight, I wouldn't be adverse to an occasional burger and fries but even that is only a slight possibility in the future.

She states it's a prop she uses in lessons or something like it.

Eh, last time I ate McDonalds it also made me horribly ill. It was after about six months of not touching one, possibly longer. Certainly reminded me why I prefer to make my own burgers.

Watch this segment from Supersize Me http://shizzville.com/how-nasty-are-mcdonalds -fries. It DOES decay after a while, just very slowly. There is no way that bun wouldn't become moldy. The fries are the only thing that are defying science.

This 12 year old hamburger is a hoax.

i don't believe it. The bread would def become moldy..

I prefer making my own burgers (turkey burgers) anyway. If i eat a fast food burger, it doesnt sit well w/ my stomach

haha yeah right.

I worked fast food, we use the same bread and meat as everyone else does. Yeah low quality, but not chemical plastic food either.

This is a scam.

I doubt McD's meat and bread is the same as everyone else's, it is very processed and I am sure full of preservatives....like the way a Twinkie can stay "good forever"...

I guess it all depends on the conditions that this burger were in...I could believe it, if there was very little humidity.  I once had a grapefruit totally dry out, never had a spec of mold on it.  I worked at burger king in highschool, once in a while we would have rolls go mouldy, but they were in plastic bags in a steamy hot kitchen.

We go to Mickey D's at least once a week (not my favorite, but the kids want the toys and the playground and happy meals). The kids love it there, and that is something they will actually eat. I just don't believe the story. Got to be a hoax.

I had a science instructor in high school with a twinkie nailed to the wall...it's probably still there with a bit of extra dust.

When we are there they play hard for two hours on the playground. They get nuggets, apples and milk. Thanks for judging me, though.

ok i'm a little embarrassed to admit this but....i know for a fact that the bun doesn't mold. I once found 3/4 of a burger under the seat in my car. I know it was at least 4 months old, probably older lol. It looked just like the pic she had. it DOESN'T mold, it doesn't rot, and it doesnt smell. it just gets hard and looks exactly the same.

When I was a kid my mother's trusty mini van broke down and we couldn't afford to take it away until three years later. When we did there was a McDonald's Kid's meal hamburger stillin the back seat and it too looked the same. I totally believe this.

P.S. I totally just buzzed this up on Yahoo!

I KNEW my stomach was not 'weak' as my friends call it. Everytime I eat fast food it always goes right through me and makes me ill for a good three days. But that is the same for all fast food for me.

I wonder if Subway is like that too, it would make me sad to know the veggie Delights are bad for me too :(

Thank you so much for posting this! I have not had any fast food for months (which is why my cholesterol has dropped from 5.5 to 3.3), and I had been thinking, that a burger might be nice.  I started watching the vid, and all the old cravings started up, until I kept on watching.  Wow, easiest way to cure a craving.  Could you find one for chocolate now?

I believe it. I have also witnessed a petrified bun.

Maybe her bun didn't mold because she lives in a dryer climate. Regardless, I swore off fast food hamburgers years ago. Though I think I'm still digesting the last one I ate.  I'm soooo glad my parents rarely brought me there when I was a kid.

As far as chicken mcnuggets...do they call them that because they're suppose to taste like chicken? I do not believe those things are chicken. The hamburger is probably more cow (in fact, over 1000 different cows mixed together) than the mcnuggets are chicken.

Edited to add: This is what's in a mcnugget.

http://www.alnyethelawyerguy.com/al_nye_the_l awyer_guy/2007/03/so_what_really_.html

"But perhaps the most alarming ingredient in a Chicken McNugget is tertiary butylhydroquinone, or TBHQ, an antioxidant derived from petroleum that is either sprayed directly on the nugget or the inside of the box it comes in to "help preserve freshness." According to A Consumer's Dictionary of Food Additives, TBHQ is a form of butane (i.e. lighter fluid)..."
