So it is finally time for me to aknowledge the fact that I am severly overweight and freaking shed these pounds. I was doing well for a while but then I lost my job about a year ago and started down a bad road as far as food and exersize go. I went from cutting out carbs and sugar to pigging out on fast food and gummy worms. I also have PCOS which means that I should know that sugar is actually poison for me and could ultimatley lead to my death.
I got my job back a month ago and the stress has been causing me to eat out of comfort. That needs to stop..NOW. I sit at a desk all day which is why I have no excuse for eating. I am about 260 and 5'2 and I need to lose at least 100 pounds. I know I can do it, it's going to take time. My boyfreind is frustrated with me because of my diet which I understand (he is very in shape and lean and wants me to be able to do the 10 mile hikes in the mountains that he loves to do). any tips and suggestions are welcome, I AM done killing myself as of today.
Take it slow and get him to help motivate you. Since your boyfriend loves to hike and stuff, ask him to workout with you. Do an hour of cardio 6 days a week(it can be walking) and do at least 30 minutes of strength training every other day(I personally love pilates...you may not be able to do everything the right away but do it to the best of your ability and you'll be surprised at how fast you can do the stuff). Don't be afraid to have a slice of cake or something sweet, just don't go overboard...like if you buy a box pie, cut out one slice and then either send the rest somewhere or throw it away. It's all about portion control. If you can cut what you usually eat in half you'll do great! I also suggest you eat every 3-4 hours. And have healthy snacks ready to eat...like get graham crackers and put peanut butter on a few to eat when you get a sweets craving. And if you have to have things like chips, count out a serving and put it in a zip lock bag so you have one small serving of a bad junk food instead of the whole bag.
Dude My husband is like extremly active too, and it doesn't help that I hate exercise..
A few months ago, I got a foodsaver, I have been using that to help limit my portions. I take out one serving, then seal it back up. That seems to help me. Also, always eat out of a bowl or off a plate, never out of the bag.
