Give me a hand!!

I went out last night for the first time in ages.
I just don't know how many calories i consumed, and i'd really like to know!

I drank:
- 3 x diet coke and vodka
- 1 x sex on the beach cocktail (im not even sure whats in this!)
- 2 x blueberry shots (they looked like bright blue, like alcopop coloured)
- 1 x Vodka and small amount of blackcurrent squash

Can you give me some help? =)

i lived in england as an american, and i can tell you katydalt is right- there's a major culture barrier and in england what she's doing is fine.

thinking it's ok to disagree but need to respect that other people may have a different opinion.  Don't take it personal and let's get back to sharing support.
YES! i knew it!

haha, i knew it wasn't odd.
i knew it must have been a stricter eye on alcohol america has.
good call luzing.
yeah it was hard for us american kids tho...alcohol was everywhere but we weren't held back by our parents, sometimes friends, etc...but yeah i dont think i met one english teenager that hadn't had a drink by age 15.
Nobody's debating the legality of this (at least not since they found out you were British).

I have to speak up because I've been quite offended by several statements I've seen on here. First, the assumption that because I label 7 drinks as "heavy drinking" (and I'm American) that America has a "stricter eye on alcohol". Umm, I think A LOT of Americans (myself included) would agree that the drinking age of 21 is shit. Please don't generalize. Second, I take offense to the implication (and again vast generalization) that British teens are "more mature" than their American counterparts.

But just a reminder- this is a *health* forum. And while I generally have no problem providing calorie information to people . . . this was about providing calorie information to a 16 year old (who, though legal, is still likely growing) who doesn't consider 7 drinks to be heavy drinking.

I think we need to redefine what it means to be supportive.
i think we also need to stop talking about katy as though shes not reading this
hehe.
Katy, so that you understand the reaction you're getting from Americans....when I came here just before my 20th birthday, I could not relate to anyone my own age here, they were so incredibly immature. I had to hang with 30 yr olds just to feel on the same level.

I don't know whether it's because we leave school at 16 (versus 18 in America), or what, but there really is a huge difference in behaviour and expectations.
Sorry, I was trying to address the other posters.
yeah the 'mature' thing....there definietly is some truth to it. :( sorry but there are often stereotypes for a reason.
missybear25_2004 - you are the best example. you've seen both worlds so you understand.

so is me drinking now like a 12 year old drinking in america?
Sorry to burst your bubble Politica, but it is true that British teens in general are much more mature than American teenagers.  First of all, we leave school at an earlier age.  I've met 25 yr old interns in this country that are shocked with how hard the work environment is and can't wait to get back to school at the end of summer. At 25, I had been working full-time for 9 years.

That is not un-typical.
I'm not saying that there aren't a lot of immature American teens out there . . . but stereotypes=bad. Come on people, Seriously.

Am I somehow less mature than my Brit counterparts because I advocate no/light drinking?
well, you're streotyping me incase you hadn't noticed.

You're relating my age to my maturity level.
yes, that's actualy a good analogy :) i recently moved to the states after living overseas for most of my life and it really is amazing how much more mature (and happy) the british teens are compared with the american teens. In general, of course; there are many that defy that rule.
Look, I won't compare the maturity levels of American vs. Brit teens. My point, which apparently didn't come across well, was that its a GENERALIZATION!

I believe this came up because of the supposed "cultural barriers" and me "not being able to understand."

Look, health is health is health. You're right, I'm not British, but please don't speak on MY maturity. I've not and haven't criticized the OP for drinking illegally (because she's not), I'm concerned about the health implications . . . and I'm apparently the only one . . .
Politica, it's okay to generalise when the generalisation is true.  However, I think everyone realises that there are exceptions to every rule and no one is pointing a finger at YOU and saying you are immature.
My GOD! Don't you see this has nothing to do with maturity?!?!?! I would give the exact same advice to a 30 year old, American or Brit (for those of you that think it matters).

Your age matters because, as someone mentioned earlier, you're probably not done growing/developing!!!

For the record, I wouldn't recommend you drink coffee either.
i don't drink coffee anymore.
i've gradually ruled that out, i was too addicted.
