why is it that i am fine food wise all day and then as soon as i eat one "naughty" thing it leads to another then another then another?
I have had a really good morning today and then hubby went out and my brain click to "binge mode".This happens such a lot and wish I knew what i could do to stop it in it's tracks.
Please don't say "make lots of carrot sticks and keep them handy in the fridge"or i will thump you(cos I know where you live :D)
i wish i could get out of this cycle of events and get down to losing some serious weight as it is now getting me down in more ways than one.
Thanxs Catherine

Hopefully this can help you out some :)
You might try consuming more "good" fats and proteins, rather than carrot sticks and light veggies.  Fats/oils and also proteins help you retain that full and satisfied feeling much longer.

The carbs in fruits and vegatables (and especially in junk like chips), gives you cravings not long after.

If you put half a tablespoon of flaxseed oil in with your oatmeal in the morning, you probably won't find yourself hungry, ravenous for food by 10 or 11 AM.

Small, sweet snacks are calorie dense, but you only get a small amount for all those calories.  Look for highly nutritious foods that you can eat lots of, give you good nutrional value and keep you filled up.  Also drink lots and lots and lots of water, helps maintain that full feeling.

I'll tell you how to fix your problems if you can tell me why I don't have the will power to eat the healthy lunch I packed for the day when ANY co-worker says..."you wanna go out and get some food?"
Where are you getting the "naughty" foods? In general, for me, keeping bad stuff out of my kitchen entirely works for me.

I find that I am usually too lazy to go out to buy something when I have a craving or want to eat something bad. If it's not in the house, I can't eat it. If I'm at the store and want something bad, I get a single serving, have that, and then that's it -- there isn't any more for me to have!

(Well, until next time, anyway.....!)
I do the exact same thing when I'm with my sister. We are both trying to diet, but when we're together, it's like we just go nuts. So.. I probably shouldn't be giving YOU advice when I do it myself, BUT... I am going to try and bring the 100 calorie packs when I see her. Then instead of brabbing a bag of chips, I'll just grab those. Then maybe have some low cal bread, and cheese, and bologna and have a sandwich. Load it up with lettuce, tomato, onions... and after that you'll be fine. Or should I say... WE! So good luck to you and me... let's see how we do!!
Oh.. I almost forgot. *phew* POPCORN! I didn't have much calories left yesterday, so I popped myself a bag of light popcorn while I made supper my son and boyfriend, and it actually worked. It was only about 120 calories for the light popcorn, and it lasts a long time and actually makes you full. So that's another idea. Binge on that... and you'll be fine!

Thanks Shaye......what brand name popcorn? And is that 120 cals for the whole bag?
No problem.. they have 100 Calorie pack pop corn, Pop Secret, and then I also just got Light Roundys (a little broke right now).. and that was the one like 120 Calories for the whole bag, and it's the regular size. I would just look around at your local store. They're out there!!
i think we all different foods that satisfy the crazies - for me a zone
perfect protein bar tastes like chocolate and i feel full by the time i
am finished with it, usually good for a couple hours. chocolate is my
downfall so i just cant eat candy or i eat the whole store! this is a
pretty reasonable substitute (for me)
thanx for all your replies.I think i will have to make sure that if i know my hubby is going to be out to have some "treats" lined up so i don't go and raid the fridge like a naughty kid.
This site is great and has helped me already in many weighs sorry ways and hope it will continue.Think planning ahead is the key and not eating on the spur of the moment
thnx catherine
