why is this happening?
You are probably eating too little and your body is going into starvation mode and starting to store fat, you probably need to UP your calorie intake especially if you are doing alot of exercise ..
Put your stats here and somebody may be able to help you more and advice a better calorie intake,
Maybe usefull to list the sorts of foods you are eating also ..
also, your weight does fluctuate on a daily basis anyway, so getting weighed everyday is pointless. just do it once a week to get a more accurate reading

it wouldnt take 3 days to go into starvation mode.....it was probably just some water weight....and the gaining could be some water weight , too i wouldnt worry too too much.....it should even out eventually :) your body may just be getting used to eating your new way :)

1200-1300 doesn't sound like a maintenance intake...
Have a read here it explains a little what happens to your body if you dont eat enough, starvation mode can begin in 2-3 days ..
im 5'1 i'll be 17 in less than a month and im trying to get to 110. i haven't updated my profile about the maintaing thing so yeah. that's why im eating so little. should i eat abotu 1300 calories?
If you are exercising alot I think you should eat more than that ... you're still growing and your body needs nutrition to grow as well as nutrition to use while you are excercising, and also the nutrition you need for your daily body needs ...
What does the eat meter say your daily goal is, and have you set your status to active ?..
I would have thought a healthy teen should be eating :
low amounts of exercise: 1500
median amounts of exercise: 1700
high amounts of exercise: 2400
from the sounds of it you are probably in the 1700 - 2400 bracket, so maybe start with 1700 and see how that goes.

Just because you eat a little doesnt mean that you will loose weight (as described in the articles above) ....
your muscles need energy from calories to grow, and in turn they will burn more calories.
and eating less calories will slow down your metabolism so that you burn calories slower - end result less weight loss.

And dont forget biggest thing of all is the quality of foods that you eat ... i.e. dont eat fast foods, soda's, sugar rich foods etc, make sure you eat fresh foods, fruits and veg, wholegrain breads etc ..
One good thing to remember with food - if it comes in a box or package its probably not good for you ... EAT FRESH ...

thanks. im think im going to eat about the same ammount just cut my exercise back. i don't really need to lose the weight i'd just like to. but i don't want to stress anymore about it! (: yeah im usually eat pretty healthy. lots of fruits and vegetables. one of my favorite things is oatmeal! love it. i add some fruit to it and its so good (: ha.
That's not a good idea. What you're eating currently is too little even for a totally sedentary teen even if she weighed 100 pounds and was shorter than 5 feet tall.
THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF FOOD ANY TEENAGE GIRL SHOULD EVER EAT IS 1500 CALORIES/DAY.
Half of a pound a day for 3 days was probably just measuring error, and so is this gain. Every day I fluctuate between 138 and 142. If I posted on calorie count about my daily gain and loss each week, it'd be silly.

I think you are trying to convince yourself that by eating less calories than you should you will loose weight, its not a healthy way to loose weight, you will eventually end up eating more because your body will start to tell you that its hungry and you will compensate by eating more calories in the long run.
Cutting down on exercise will weaken your muscles and in turn your muscles will burn less calories, RESULT - the calories that you should be burning that you are not will be stored as fat reserves and weight gain. You need good strong healthy muscles that will burn more calories rather than weak muscles burning less calories.
re-read all the articles that I posted in the links, its very important as a growing teen that you understand why you need to eat sufficient calories and get sufficient nutrition so that your body can develop.
At least take your calories up to about 1500 - 1600 for a few weeks and see how that goes, maintain your exercise that you are doing now.
as long as you do have a calorie intake deficit then you will loose weight.
this morning i was up another .4 lbs. but im going to up my calories (ha yay more food!) and keep exercising. (: and not weigh again until saturday!

I think its a sensible thing to do, just go up to 1500 - 1600 cals to start, dont be surprised if you put a little on as your body adjusts to the higher cal intake for a few days.
If you look at my graph of my food loss in my profile, where I started it looks eratic going up and down, this is I think because I changed my diet and calorie intake and also excercise, but it eventually settles down
Its not about going up and down daily, thats always going to happen, but after a month look where you started and where you finish and you should be able to draw a straight line all the way through, with a few ups and downs along the way :)..
Good luck and stick with the higher cals for a while, you will probably feel less tired and more active and if you do more you will loose more :)..
