What happens to the Biggest Loser's mommy pouches?
I have had 3 babies - big babies - 2 of them are 13 months a part! (What was I thinking?) I have read that there is no way to get rid of the mommy pouch other than surgery. If this is true how are the women contestants on Biggest Loser losing theirs? I have seen a couple of them and I see no traces of a mommy pouch.
And while we are at it - I don't watch Jon & Kate Plus 8 but I did see a pic of Kate in a bikin on ETi! I guess she had surgery - anyone a fan who knows? If she didn't have surgery, I want to know her secret!
Much depends on age. The older you are, the less elastic your skin. Most people that I know, that have lost a large amount of weight and had a residual of tummy skin, had surgery to remove it. And I see nothing wrong with that either.
Guess I am out of luck then. Overweight since age 6, first baby at 26, second at 32, third at 33, now I am the big 4-0.
Hmmm, better start saving now....(no, hon, you aren't going to college unless you get that full scholarship!)
fyi- Kate had surgery (donated to her by a fan who's hubby was a plastic surgeon)
LOL. Yeah...I wish I had realized at a much younger age the effect of fat on the skin. I don't have a pouch, my tummy is flat. But my skin is absolutely looser now, and I know that it would not have been quite so loose if I had not gained the weight I did in my early 40's. I preach this to all the young gals I know that complain about weight gain...DON'T WAIT TO LOSE IT!!!
Live and learn! And I don't blame you a bit for that savings account - I would do the same in a heartbeat!!!
I think that there are many factors that play into how elastic your skin is, especially around the abdomen. My mom has always been thin and fit-- I've seen pics of her in a bikini from before I was born and from what I can tell, she was always about a size 0 or 2. I am her only child, she only gained 30 pounds when she was pregnant with me (she was only 27 at the time), and she lost it all within a year. Since then, she has stayed pretty thin (5'5", 135 pounds) and exercises 4-5 days a week for as long as I can remember (she is 50 now). But, seeing her in a swimsuit, she still has an obvious mommy pouch. Every part of her body is fit and in great shape, but that is still there. For some women, it doesn't go away, while for others it is no problem.
I've never had kids and I have the "mommy pouch" so I guess I'm really screwed.![]()
Kate did have surgery, wouldn't it be nice if we had fans who would donate tummy tucks to us? Well if you ever need to feel better about yourself, try googling pictures of Kate's belly postbabies and pre surgery. Her stomach stretched so much while pregnant she had 2nd degree burns, they had to lotion and suran wrap it!
