lots of shrimp cocktail
lose 2-3 lbs BEFORE the trip -- or split it, lose 1 - 1.5 lbs BEFORE and plan to lose 1-1.5 lbs AFTER.

you can reduce your calories and stoke up the exercise fires.  burn those calories off.
Make SURE to work out while you're there! And don't set a goal to continue to lose weight while on vacation, you know? Just say to yourself, "Okay, I'm going to maintain." The best you can do is make healthy choices. One less drink, dessert OR appetizers, not both, don't try EVERYTHING at the buffet...

Trust me...I'm going to Vegas for my 21st birthday in May, and I'm so excited and so dreading it. Haha. We're staying at the Bellagio, and my first question was, "Do they have a workout center?"
im so stressed ! bah
Before you eat, eat a big salad, then you'll only be so hungry.  Or load your plate up with half veggies, preferably non-sauced/buttered and eat those first.
thats surprising that youd actually gain weight! because all you do is walk!  I was there last year, and good god, ive never walked so much in my life!

Id say just stay away from the buffets if you dont think you can control yourself...there are other places to eat there...
ROFLOL
That is too funny!  I just got back from Vegas.  We ate at Ah Sin @ Paris.  We had Sushi which is a good choice!  Then tempura veggies and shrimp and scallops, Bad Choice.

I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted, in moderation.  My best friend and I would split a meal and an appetizer.  The alcohol was what was hard for me, as it is empty calories that are non-filling and many icy fruity high calorie drinks.  :)

Have fun...  within reason.
Even Richard Simmons says that Calories don't count on birthdays holidays or vacations.
Let your hair down a few times, but be prepared to pull back the reigns when your vacation is over.

Sometimes, I don't think that it is the actual eating that troubles us, but the floodgate that opens to let yourself continue to eat without reason upon return.

Moderate restraint....  :)
Good luck,
Kathy
