Happy Birthday to me, I did it!!!
Well, it's been just about a year since I started my journey to weight loss. I turned 49 last year in August and took a long hard look at myself and decided it was time to lose a few pounds. My goal at the time was to get down to 110 before I hit 50 years old on my next birthday. It was a long hard struggle but I did it!!! I did hit a plateau, for a few months, but then I had to fast for some blood work, and I was on a losing streak again. I'm now down to 105-106 and at 5'0" and 50 years old, I'm happy to stay here. What a great birthday present to me!!! Wish me luck maintaining. If I can do it, so can you.

CONGRATULATIONS! That's wonderful! *high five* :D
Good luck with maintaining (:
Happy birthday and many skinny wishes! Amazing job with dropping it all! Now you just have to ask for a fabulous new frock for the big day! ;)
Congrats on the weight loss, that's great!!
Hope your next 50 are as good, if not better, than your last :)
Congratulations on the weight loss and happy birthday! I'm 61 and have finally, after 8 years of yo-yo and plateaus gotten to my 30 year old weight watchers goal that I was last at in 1987/88! Only to find out that its now considered still overweight! That's how the medical field has changed in the last 20/30 years!
So, make this a lifestyle change. We (either of us) can't afford another cycle. It gets harder and harder to lose weight as we get older. So I'm hoping that we both have made permanent changes in our lives!
Congrats to you too, bobev, and to everyone that has changed their life by eating healthier and exercising. It not only helps you, but sends out a positive message to those around you. Young people, especially, will see that it's never too late to change for the better. And I have made this a permanent lifestyle change. My cholesterol went down and I'm more toned, and have more energy than before. Even my doctor told me not to change a thing, she couldn't believe I was turning 50! I just want everyone to know it's possible at any age. Don't give up or you will never find out how healthy you can be.
Congrats - what a great gift to yourself!
I'm new to Calorie Counter, and my four year old saw your chicken picture and begged me to click on it! LOL! I thought I'd browse your journal posts while here, and I'm glad I did. Congrats to you! I'm 31 and hoping to lose about 15-20 pounds. I've joined a gym, and I'm actually going now. It's just hard to stay on track with the kids and always being on the run. It's tempting to give in and eat McD's with them all the time, but I just can't! Thanks for sharing your story!
