It's just so hard....

As most of you probably know already, I have much trouble eating my minimum amount of calories. Let me give you some background info...

Ever since I was a little kid, I almost never get hungry, but when I do, I get full super easily. The only reason I was ever at a healthy weight then is because (And I know how unhealthy it was) I used to drink at LEAST a liter or two of pop daily. And I always ate the super high calorie stuff and ate tons of junk. Well now I'm trying to be healthier and not drink so much pop, and now I have a lot of trouble. It's just so hard for me to get to my minimum to maintain.

And I know that you guys say if you eat three times a day at the same times, your body will get used to it, but I have been doing that or 6 months now, and I'm still almost never hungry. The contrary, I almost always feel stuffed past my limit. I feel absolutely awful right now because I had two huge stuffed tacos, but I needed to to get to my calorie limit. Especially these past few days, I have not been hungry at all, and it feels awful stuffing myself when I'm not hungry. I really don't want to be like this and feel so sick my entire life, but I don't want to just not eat and lose weight. What should I do?

That bites.Good luck. The only advice I can give you is not to push yourself too hard. Maybe try having softer foods that'll go easier on your stomach. Try eating more often perhaps?

I really don't know.I have the opossite problem.

are you sure it is physical and not mental?

if so, then maybe you should change WHAT you're eating. what's a typical day like for you?

My recommendation would be for you to find the very highest caloried, but healthy, foods you can find, and eat them.  There are high-calorie foods that are good for us in moderation.  But since you are having trouble getting your mind to let you have enough food, then opt for some high-calorie foods that are not necessarily that filling.

best non-filling healthy foods...

1. olive oil--eat just 3 tbsp a day and you'd got 240 calories

2. nuts--eat just 2 oz a day (1/2 cup) which isn't that difficult and you've got about 325 calories

3. have 2 eggs a day--150 calories

4. 4 tbsp peanut butter--almost 400 calories

5. 2 cups 2% milk~ 280 calories

These are all added things in addition to however much actual food you can stomach. This is about 1400 calories and doesn't include any grains, protein, or veggies. If you add just a slice of toast with the 2 eggs and 1 cup of milk, have the pb with an apple, have the olive oil on 1 serving pasta, and eat the nuts as a snack then you've added (70 for the bread, 90 for the apple, 210 for the pasta) plus you can have 3oz protein at lunch and dinner for another 200 calories.

This is just an example of how you can easily eat a small amount of food whist still being healthy. It's about 2000 calories for essentially the following

B: 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, and 1 piece of toast

S: nuts

L: a couple slices of deli meat and whatever else you can stomach

S: apple with peanut butter

D: 1 cup pasta tossed with olive oil, veggies sauteed with olive oil, 1 cup milk

Not a lot at all. This is without really anything planned for lunch.

I have always had food trouble because of allergies to foods and digestive problems, so that is my first reaction. I would suggest talking to a doctor, nutritionist, and/or allergist to determine whether there is blockage or malabsorption or digestive problems. I would also suggest taking a digestive enzyme. That can help break down the food a little better so that you can stomach a little more at a time.
