Hard Liquor's impact on weight loss

Quote  |  Reply
People, I crave for some hard liquor once every week when I don't exercise. Does that have an impact on any weight gain? I have at the max, 3.

According to this website, hard liqour (whiskey, gin, vodka, rum) has 64 calories an ounce. If you mix a drink with 1.5 oz of liquor and you have 3, that would be 288 calories. I'm sure you could work that into your weekly calorie allotment. Just mix it with diet coke or some other low calorie mixer, and don't be tempted to eat when you drink.

As long as you take this approach, I'm sure you can lose weight, and enjoy you weekly drinks too!
PGL, what about the sugars in alcohol?
it can create a stall. any refined sugar will though. the body will use the sugar first before working on the reserves.

but the same rules applies..calories in calories out.

i would be more concerned about craving drinking and what that means emotionally than gaining wt from it.

if you have a drinking problem in your genes...its something to think about. not nagging..but ya know....
just work it in to ur daily intake totals!! Let's say u need 1500-1600 cals per day. Save about 200-300 for liquor and make sure ur mixers are diet so that u aren't doubling up the calories. It really doesn't make an impact until u start getting drunk munchies or u go way over ur caloric intake.
calories in calories out, just count them....i always workout extra the next day!!

as far as craving alcohol.....as long as it isnt everyday i wouldnt say their was a problem (commenting on curses), have you not ever felt like man i wanna have a few drinks?
Yeah...just clearing up "curses" comment. I just drink once a week. And its scotch with water. Safe.
