Why is it so hard for me to lose?
Im super frustrated in order for me to lose weight ive got to work out like a mad woman -- twice a day for max results
AND eat like a mouse
what gives?!?!?!?!
If you have a deficit then you should be losing. Maybe you don't burn as many calories as you think you do. What is your daily exercise routine and how many calories do you eat?
I run roughly 10 miles a day (no joke) and weight train -- dif muscle groups every other day.
If you are running 10 miles a day, then you definitely should not be eating like a mouse. I would make sure you taking in enough calories.
i know but it doesnt make sense! if i eat as much as i am suppose to i gain!?!?!
No, you will not gain. You burn about 100 cals a mile = (about) 1000 cals. A deficit higher than 1000 (800 in my opinion) is too much.
What are your stats? You probably burn 1000-1500 a day from what you wrote. If your maintenance cals were 2000 (example) with the cals burn your burn for the day is 3000-3500. Eating less than 2500 is way too little.
Are you measuring/weighing your cals? if you're not...that's why things are not working. Make sure you're eating enough...don't want to get into starvation mode and have your body feed off of muscle and other nutrients.

In order to do a BMR (Basic Metabolic Rate) calculation, I will also need your age, as that's part of determining where you stand calorie wise.
20 yrs old
That's my goal weight. I am your height also. I am 28.
If the age is similar, your sedentary = 1700; light=2100; moderate = 2500
you're burning about 1000 a day, your beyond moderate...you're very active. To make it easy: 1700+ 1000=2700 burned (that's if you're totally sedentary and then run 10miles later). If you eat anything under 1700-2000+ cals, you're being pretty rough on your body. You need to eat more.
Also, You're already at a HEATHLY/SEXY weight and the last 5-10 will take longer.
What works for me to break a plateau (just did after a couple months) was keep up with my exercise routine, but ate at maintenance...I actually dropped weight the first week doing this. After a couple weeks to a month, things are getting easier and I'm losing steady again. I'm slowly eating less. Right now I'm eating about 1700-1800 after about 2 weeks I'll lower it to 1600 and leave it there until I reach my goal (or have to break a plateau again).
Good luck. Remember you're SO close to your goal and it will take a while but you'll get there.
Just curious...are you trainning for a marathon? i've heard that you really should eat at maintenience during training. It helps you move better and helps your muscles heal faster afterwards too.
Thanks for the info...i think i just need to get my eating scedule back on track...Ive been soo busy lately i find that i forget to eat during the day (i dont really get hungry when i am destracted) and then i binge hardcore at night ... thats prolly where i am doing the damage :(
any tips on countering that situation?
I think i might have Night EAting Syndrome acutally .
It looks like you have a Basic Metabolic Rate of 1499 calories. That is just to function normally during the day. Adding in exercise, if you are very active, you can figure on needing 2585 calories to maintain your current weight. From there, to lose weight, you would need to shave off between 500-1000 calories a day to lose weight, 500 calories being a pound a week, 1000 calories being 2 pounds a week. If you are "eating like a mouse" and exercising like "a mad woman", then you won't get the results you want. Your body will know if it's not getting enough calories, and will go into starvation mode. It's the body's way of surviving, but for someone trying to lose weight, it's not a good thing. You need to eat throughout the day, to keep your fat burners burning.
It is all depends on how you eat you should be eating every 2 hours. i know it sounds crazy but it is true you need to force food down your mouth that way you are tricking your body to thinking you are hungry again.. eating the right foods too. I have one of the hardest meal plans to go by and if you can do that then you can do anything.. as i will post
another thing to do is shocking your body in the form of workouts dont just work on just one bady part at a time. shock your body into doing different excersizes in your workout. there is a good workout program called px90 i believe that is a program that shocks the body .. jazzersize is good hit the suana for about 15 to 30 mins

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
