Hi HK,
I can't wait for book 7, yet at the same time I don't want it to end. I usually read through a book in a few days, but I guess I'll have to pace myself on this one to make it last.
I'm really hoping that JK Rowling doesn't kill Harry... but I suspect that if Voldemort is to die, than Harry does too. Although, does that put an end to the good vs evil struggle, once and for all - so therefore not likely to happen?
I'm going to re-read book 6 this week to refresh my memory with the details of that book.
What are your thoughts?

I don't think Harry will die. I know you'll see people you like die, though. :/ I think one of the Weasleys will die. Hopefully not Ron. Also, hopefully not Hermione.
I really hope that Harry doesn't die...but realistically it may happen :( From JK Rowlings side...if he dies there is less of a chance of someone continuing Harry's story. Although, she will upset alot of fans....so, who knows?
Do you guys think that they will go to Hogwarts for the final year? At the end of book 6 he states his intention not to go back.....

I don't think he will. I think Harry's got a real stubborn streak. I think Hermione.. might. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure if I think Hogwarts will reenter without dumbledore. They have to replace a Transfigurations and DADA teacher again and they DO seem to have hiring problems.

You think it may be Hermione? I certainly hope not....I want her and Ron to have "happily ever after". For some reason, I've always compared them to Ron's parents...first love, that kind of thing. Where as, Harry and Genny are kind of the "love that is doomed"...to be dramatic :)
I need to reread number 5 and 6, refresh my memory....

Does anyone think that Sirius will show up again? They say he is dead......but the how and reason of the door he fell through was never really explained.
No I don't think I agree that Harry and Ginny are doomed. I think, in Book 7, Ginny's gonna smack Harry upside the head and tell him to stop being such a.. boy hero!
Sirius...
There was the mirror gives to Harry in Book five, that Harry never used. So... maaaaaaaybe.

I think Dumbledore will have one of the Headmaster's portraits (I hope), so he'll be around in that sense. I think that mirror will come into play, as well, HK.
I think that the Dursleys are going to die. Once those protections are lifted from their home I think it's all going to end for them.
So....
Is Snape good or bad?
Why is Trevor, Neville's frog always trying to get away?

The thing I've always wondered about Trevor...a Basilisk is "born from a chicken's egg hatched beneath a toad." Always wondered if there was any connection between Trevor and the Basilisk in book 2, or if that Basilisk was the same one who killed Moaning Myrtle all those years ago, and therefore totally unrelated.
My opinion - Snape is (overall) good. What would have stopped him from killing the students that he just stunned or blocked at the end of book 6, if he was completely on the dark side? Plus after book 6, we know why the DADA teacher position was never permanently filled. Could that have been why Snape was rumored to have wanted it?

The Basilisk in Book 2 is definately the one who killed Myrtle. That's how the three of them find the Chamber of Secrets.
rdgate, i agree with your hermione and ron happily ever after theory! maybe i'm just hoping...
Haha, it's sad that this is my first ever post in a forum on cc... But I'm a dork. :)
We should be getting sooo many answers about all of the mysteries JKR has left us with since the 6th book... but mostly I'm interested in whether Snape is good or evil. I want him to be good so much that, like other Snape fans, I interpret all of his actions into good ones... but who knows the truth? I think that JKR will surprise us quite a bit... and I'm afraid I won't like some of the surprises (this applies to more than the snape issue).
On a more personal note, I will be on vacation when the book is released! I was planning on going HP crazy, dressing up, attending Border's pre-release party - but alas, I cannot.

That's a bummer!!! I am going to dress up both for the release and the movie. It's too exciting not to!!!!
I wonder a lot about Neville. I think there's a lot more to him than we know... I think Snape is bad, and have since the beginning. I think there are more Unbreakable Vows we will find out about, especially relating to Snape.

I agree with you about Neville, Heather. If I'm remembering correctly, he had been using his father's wand, but then got one of his own in book...5? I think? And it was implied in book 6 that he was actually showing improvement.
I think he's going to shine in book 7. Unfortunately I'm also afraid he's one of "the two." :(

I will not be dressing up. I'm sure, however, K will. :)
I will, however, probably be at a Bookstore at midnight.

HK...is the mirror your talking about the one that Sirius gave to Harry to communicate with him? After Sirius died Harry tried using that mirror and it didn't work.....but I still have hope :)
I too am very interested to see the outcome of Snape....whether he is good or evil? I can't decide on which I think he is.

You've got it, Rachell. And I think it will make it's return in Book 17. Possibly Kreacher will be on the other end, though, since I KNOW we've not seen the end of him.
There's a house elf holding Godric Griffyndor's Sword on the UK's cover.
I've been reading a lot of the theories and the Snape is good ones make the most sense. So I am leaning that way. I really want Neville to WOMP Bellatrix. Truely. And what worries me even more is that JKR said "one major character gets a reprieve and two major characters WHO DIDN'T DIE now do.
I think we are losing more than two.
