I hate binging so early in the morning.
So, already today I feel like a failure. I've been doing my best to try and lose weight and I just wind up binging on crap.
So far today I've had
Breakfast:
1 apple
3 oz tri tip beef (it was a late breakfast)
binge:
4 slices of chicken and anchovie pizza (it was left over from days ago, and I totally lost it. I had two with cheese and toppings and two without the toppings at all and just the bread part, yikes!)
According to the calorie counter, I've eaten, like, 1,000 something calories and it's only 10 o'clock am!!! Am I doomed to be overweight forever? I had planned on having broccoli and asparagus for lunch, but not if my calories are already high for the day.
don't beat yourself up. you binged, who cares? just go for a run... or even a long walk. you'll burn of those pesky calories in no time. then next time you want to eat, eat some fruit. or some vegies.
the worst thing you can do is feel sorry for yourself, cause it will cause you eat more.
Your day is not ALL ruined!
It would be so easy to rite the whole day off and ruin the rest of the day but if you act as if the binge never happened, wait until you are hungry again, and just eat when you are hungry, then you will feel so good about being able to eat normally instead of letting one binge ruin everything!
I have binged in the morning before and if I immediately get back to normal eating then I feel great by the end of the day!
A slip is a slip and not the end of the world. You know this, I know this. Dust yourself off and eat to maintainance for the rest of today. And have more of a substancial breakfast next time! Even if you wake up late.
How much're you eating generally, how much do you weigh now and how tall're you again? o__O;
@Lala: 5'5", 161 lbs (yikes) and about 2,000 some calories on a bad day. I work 5-8 hour days bathing dogs and I walk to work, but still I haven't lost any weight and it just keeps coming :(. That was all before I walked to work, spent four and a half hours bathing dogs and then walking home.
And what's your goal? You're only slightly overweight, so, yes, you can afford to lose a little, but doing it properly. Activity wise you're still moderately active - I imagine those dogs don't all sit perfectly still for you. <__<
Lightly to moderately active, you burn 2300 to 2700 calories a day according to this calc for teens: http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html. So, to be a little more specific, around 2500 calories. To plausibly lose a pound a week, that being a healthy and sustainable rate of loss, you'd be wanting to eat 2000 steadily. If you're under that, right now, then up your calories to 2000 and see if it does you any favours. If that doesn't work eat maintainance - so, in that 2300 to 2700 range - for a week or two and then lower gradually back down to 2000.
If THAT doesn't work, consider getting a blood test done at the doctor. It could be something underlying. But only if upping your intake does nothing for you. x:

I just wanted to tell you that I love cold pizza and that if I got up in the morning and there was cold pizza in my fridge I'd have eaten it too.
What I'm trying to say is that you can make weight-loss easier or more difficult and having half-eaten pizzas knocking around is, frankly, asking for trouble.
While you're still feeling contrite, how about going around your fridge/cupboards/freezer with a black rubbish bag and getting rid of anything that you can see yourself wishing you hadn't eaten in a few days' time? Find the pizza delivery menu and shred it. Fill the house instead with bowls of fresh fruit and other healthy foods and then it's almost impossible to 'wind up binging on crap' unless you make a special effort.
Good luck
I agree with Lala - up your calories and eat more substantially. If I was eating an apple, a small portion of beef, and just broccoli and asparagus for half the day, I'd probably binge too.
direwolf, i hope you're doing ok today :) i also agree that you should focus on eating more in the mornings to prevent binging. make sure you're getting a good balanced meal with protein, carbs and fats so that your body won't be missing anything. another thing, if you do binge, don't feel like a failure! we've all overeaten at one point.. does that mean we're all failures? no! just keep going.
On the go andin the know.
