i hate those days when I can't stop eating
Reason: clarified topic in title
i hope this doesnt last long....
The best you can do for yourself is make sure that you don't keep unhealthy snacks around you, and that when you do feel like you absolutely MUST snack, reach for something healthy (e.g. fruits & veggies).
You could also get some exercise--like taking a walk--because in addition to moving you away from all sources of food, I (personally) rarely feel hungry after exercise, and the endorphins spread by exercising make you happy, so if you're eating because you're depressed, that should help. :)
I never ever have a problem with portion control or refusing sweets besides that time. it's a drag. :[
I like to much on dry Cheerios...great 'tv' food snack.
- Drink water
- Chew (sugarless) gum
- Brush my teeth
- Take a walk
- Take a bubble bath
- Give yourself a facial
- Call a friend
- Dig in the garden
- Try meditating
- And My Favorite - go seduce your fella!
Sure, we all have those days! Always remeber H A L T! that is, don't get too Hungry, Angry(anxious), Lonely or Tired.
depressive: Nothing like work to bring this on. I just got over a 3 day binge. I just woke up this morning and it was over. I really feel for you cause its awful when it happens. But remind yourself that eating is not making the problems go away and will only make you feel worse!!!
If it is hunger you feel (mine wasn't) try keeping some healthy soup on hand, or veggies and fruit that make you feel full and don't forget water.
i had those at the beginning of my dieting... i soon found a remedy and thins went pretty smooth for me. I just have 8 more lbs to lose and i will be perfect and exactly the size i wanted to be in.
anyways... to get over the problem...
1. STOP BUYING JUNK FOOD, all eatables in my house are either fruits or vegetables and low fat pita bread. Whenever i get a craving i just don't have anything to eat but fruits and veggies. Its okay to eat them as much as you want, but you don't generally eat too much of it since most of us don't like it that much. Trust me it works.
2. DONOT CARRY CASH: Don't carry cash with you. Keep that in your car. so even if you see a vending machine, you can't buy junk. you will feel awkward to use your card to buy stuff that costs 1-5 dollars.
try this... and let me know if it works for you.
i am quite excited that i will be reaching my goal soon. As a reward of eating fruits and veggies my body is giving me a beautiful skin and shinning hair. Trust me, in last 2 months my skin and hair have changed so drastically. Thanks to the Greens, reds, yellows and other colours that fill my plate :)

Luckily Ive only gained like 3 pounds from the whole ordeal, but its so hard to turn off eating as much and go back to regular. I binged just a tiny bit yesterday (probably still stayed under 2000 calories) but its so hard to stop :(
Yes, Ohio...he probably would reverse it if he weren't out of town so often. But once we start traveling in the motorhome, that list will be on the fridge in there. I'll have to be careful not to distract him while he's driving though!![]()
Janhavi, I like your suggestions too. I keep a housefull of healthy foods, but if I'm really bent on binging, I can even do that with healthy stuff. Probably I'm the only person alive who can binge on broccoli...LOL! The cash idea is good too. I used to keep change in my desk drawer because the vending machine was right accross the hall. Disaster!! Now all my change goes in the "travel fund" jar!
Someone had posted a forum about how expensive healthy food is. So here's an idea. Any cash you would have spent on junk food or a binge item, put it into a jar and at the end of the week use it to go buy fruits or veggies, fresh and yummy!
