I hate this time of year! Girl Scout Cookie time means having too many delicious, fattening snacks around the house. I teach school, so I always have girls wanting me to buy them. I feel so bad turning them down. Every year besides this one, it really hasn't been that big a deal. However, I'm down 39 lbs. this year and don't want to blow it. The after-school munchies hit this afternoon and I fell partways off the wagon, but not completely. I guess the treadmill and I have an unscheduled date this evening.
GURRRRRRRRL! Copy that!
I can't STOP!!!
I'm going to the gym now lol
LOL!
I was acosted by an adorable little tyke in a Brownie uniform outside of Academy a couple of weeks ago. I told her I'd give her the $4 and she could keep the cookies. Her mom said they'd be donated to the troop for snack time.

I know it's tough...I did buy some...thin mints aren't so bad. 150 calories for 4 cookies. I know thats not a lot but for a small snack it's fine. I only really like the thin mints so it's not so bad for me. I do like the idea of donating though.
I think that it's okay to give in a little to the girlscout cookies, just in moderation. My sister gave me two boxes, 1 thin mints, the other tag a longs. I discovered that the tag a longs have about twice the amount of calories than the thin mints so I stuck to the thin mints
at least they seem to be coming with fewer and fewer per box these days! i swear you get like 3 "carmel delights" (formerly known as samoas) per box haha
mmmmmm SAMOAS!!! I was watching my best friends son yesterday, and as she was leaving says "Oh, and there are girl scout cookies on top of the fridge" That's when I saw the purple box. After that kid went down for his nap... I ate three before I knew what I was doing! SOOO Good!!! It doesnt help that DH promised to buy some from our friends daughter.
There goes my weight loss!
As a reward for meeting a goal at work, a box of Girl Scout cookies was the prize!
I didn't even answer what box I wanted, no way was I going to be tempted.
It's bad when you're trying to get away from food being a reward, and that is what work is using. While it's nice to be appreciated, I was tempted to e-mail back and say 'Just send me a check for the cost of 1 box and shipping, thanks!'
I just realized no one asked me to buy cookies this year
Grrrrrr!!!
If any girl scouts came to my house, I'd buy them, but I'm rather lucky no one has come up to my apartment to ask. :-) I've managed to just eat a couple of them at my mom's house, and then stay far away!
Do you think there's something they put in those little cookies that makes everyone want more than one? Ha Ha!
Seriously, I did buy some of the sugar-free chocolate chip cookies, but even those are higher in calories than the thin mints. It's truly been a matter of will-power with me. But hey...I figure if I can make it through "Girl Scout Cookie Time", I can make it through anything.
