I Hate IGNORANT PEOPLE!

So my fiance goes to a engagement party yesterday and some of this old friends were there who have not seen me since February (I lost 17 pounds after that) So one of the guys is talking to my fiance and he's like "Why don't you hook me up with a fat girl too?" My fiance said "Excuse me? What did you say?" and the "friend" was like never mind.

Obviously he was refering to me. When my fiance told me I was sooo upset.  I know he hasn't seen me since my weight loss but I don't feel like I look very different. I went from 152 to 135. So I feel like you can't see it so people are still calling me fat behind my back!!!

I HATE HATE HATE IT!

I'm soo sorry you had to put up with that.  What a jerk.  I just don't understand why some people have to be such rude aholes....there was no reason for that whatsoever.  You have done great losing 17 pounds since Feb. and you should be very proud of yourself. You shouldn't let jerks like that shoot you down, it just shows how much class they have....NONE.  

I've always said that if people have to talk about me, I'm sorry that there life is so boring and empty they have to bring me into it to make them feel better about themselves...glad I could help...but that's me and I really don't care what people think now, but when I was younger I let it hurt me....then I realized that feeling like that you are doing nothing but hurting yourself because they don't care...and learned to let it go.

I've lost just a little bit more than you have and you can definitely tell a difference so you probably can with you too.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that.  That really sucks.  And just for the record, the way I see it, even though we strive for near perfect a lot of the time, anyone who's 135 & not 3 feet tall is never "fat."  What an assmonkey!  Sad as it is too, I think someone for whatever reason will always be there to call you fat even if you're small & don't have an ounce of flab anywhere.  People are idiots.  I always think of Jack on Will & Grace calling Will fat constantly.  It was crazy, yet he did it, and Will even got upset a little by it.  It isn't much different off the sitcoms, sadly.

If I were your fiance, I'd cut that "friend" loose. He comes across as devious, insensitive, and ofcourse jealous idiot...People like that like to project their inner pain outward onto other people...Notice the use of the "fat" adjective before girl...Guys like that are a lost soul inside, and unless he changes will always be miserable for the rest of their lives...I've seen some of my frinds say the same things, some even worse, and it's all to hide that inner demon in themselves...I know firsthand because I use to be that same insensitive clod, until I was on the receiving end one day and took a look at what kind of person I was.... sorry for the breakdown dissertation, but that is a pet peeve of mine when stupid off the wall comments like that occur.  Just look back and smile at because deep inside, the jerk was wishing he was your fiance  XD

The thing that hurts me most is that this guy acts so nice to me you know but then behind my back he's an ass.  Yeah, my fiance is done with him and I'm done with him. Blah, people can be so mean sometimes.

Not that I'm taking this guy's side in any way - I think this is a very jerkish thing of guys to do, but pretty much every guy does it anyway. Basically to most of them, girls are seen in binary: either she's a "hot" girl, or a "fat" girl.

I've hung out with guys for most of my life, and as I don't act girlish I see a lot of this stuff. Those are almost the two exclusive categories they clump girls into. As a result, you get a lot of NOT VERY FAT girls being put in the "fat" category. Hell, most guys clumped me there last year (and I'm 5'3" and was 130).

So basically, yes he is a jerk. But I wouldn't take his comment to heart so much. Kudos to you for losing the weight <3 guaranteed all your female friends are noticing it. And I'm confident you're gonna one day be "clumped" differently, and those same "friends" of your fiance are gonna be going "DUDE when did your girlfriend get so hot?!?!" ;)

Yeah, your totally right chamomile. I USED to be at the other category till I gained 40 pounds after I met my fiance. But actually, I'm glad he called me fat because now I am even more determined to lose weight and rub it in his face :-)

You can lose fat, BUT YOU CAN'T LOSE UGLINESS. It comes from within.

People like that suck! Next time tell them the above phrase and watch their ugly jaw drop to the floor. Then ask them if you can give them a hand and pick it up for them before you walk away.

135 is not fat!  I'm sure you're looking pretty hot.  You might be classified as slightly overweight if you're around 5' or less, but not obese by any stretch of the imagination. 

Regardless, that man should not be hooked up with ANY woman.

135 is great and maybe that guy actually is attracted to larger women and wasn't referring to you in any way.

I say you forget the whole thing, but first tell your fiance that next time someone comments about your weight in a negative way, maybe he could keep it to himself...

umm yeah i have to agree with marmarl actually.

your fiance didn't have to tell you that ESPECIALLY since you've lost weight anyway.  He could have told his buddy how hot you are and how much hotter you've become and then told him to piss off.
