I CANNOT get motivated to stay the course. I hate counting, measuring, logging..all the time. I just want to eat mindlessly and not gain weight!! I have come to the conclusion that I am an emotional eater and that eating makes me happy..I love food!! Anyone out there feel the same way and have some tips to go on. Besides the usual???

I am the same way.  I love to eat!  And then I beat myself up over how much I ate, and get all upset when the weight creeps up (well duh, what did I expect?!).

One thing I do is weigh myself nearly every morning.  This tends to keep me honest and motivated to keep up with stuff.  And, I don't log -although I try to keep up good eating habits- on the weekend.

Good luck!

Maybe if food makes you happy you should just try to workout more. Are you at a sustainable weight or do you want to lose more weight? Once you get to your goal if you just keep up the excersize you can match you food calories to what you burn and be fine.

Atleast that is my motivation... i looove carbs and ate too much while pregnant. Now I find that I like going to the gym, so I figuered I burn about 2500 calories for the day on days that I workout so when I get to my goalweigt I think I will be able to eat alot more of my favorite foods without worrying too much. :)

Just that you can mindlessly eat, as you say if most of what you eat is healthy. I don't know how much you love salad or vegetables, but between meals..any time you want to sit down to have a nice amount of food, you could choose super healthy items like salads, and not log or measure..but simply eat and enjoy them knowing you aren't packing a ton of calories onto your daily food.

Sugar free puddings and such..fresh fruit..nice, pretty fruit salads..there are most definitely a lot of foods you can snack on throughout your day without gaining if you do it right.

And of course being more active is always best for those who have a hard time cutting back on food.

Either way, healthy is nice.

hmm i don't know if i have any tips you wouldn't have already heard but i have this to offer: it's okay if food makes you happy--it'd certainly be a problem if it made you unhappy but what else makes you happy? if you're eating to feed emotional hunger than eating food will not help you long term but there are things that will, you just gotta figure out what that is for you.

Hello I am pretty new to all this here but I hope I'll get motivated by nice people here with same problem. Smile

I have the same problem like you. I just love food. I don't eat when I am bored or feeling bad. I mostlyeat when I see something tasty. And I hate that. Embarassed
