There is always a certain time in the morning (usually after I've been awake for about 10 minutes and have gone to the bathroom, etc.), when I weigh much less than I do at all other times of the day. It has been showing weight loss of about .5 pounds to 1 pound every day the last 3-4 days since I upped my calories to 1500 instead of the 900 I was eating before. Then it jumps up 1-2 pounds, even before I've eaten anything. Sometimes, I get on it once, and then I forget the number to log, so I jump on again, and it's 2 pounds heavier.. within a matter of seconds!
I hate my scale.. I'm going to save up for a really good one I think. Anyone have any advice on a good type of scale? Mine is digital, I'm almost thinking it's not the best idea?
I just got an Omron HBF-516 Full Body Composition Monitor and Scale from Amazon.com and it's pretty cool. It seems to be accurate and precise with your weight, as well as the other functions. It also tells you your BMI, Body Fat %, Visceral Fat%, Skeletal Muscle %, Resting Metabolism, and Body Age. The measurements for body fat %, and skeletal muscle % are fairly accurate, they seem to vary no more than 1% each day. I would definitely recommend it if your willing to spend the money ($90 with shipping)
That's awesome, thanks so much. I'm definitely going to look into it. My mom had a really incredible built-in scale in her side of my parents' bathroom (they have the most ridiculous smart-house system), but since I got married and moved out and don't have my parents $ to spend anymore, I'm learning to appreciate saving up for things! I trusted my mom's scale, though.. she just lives too far for me to travel there weekly to weigh myself! What's weird is that when I got weighed at the doctor, I was 20 pounds lighter at my start weight, so I really don't know what to trust at this point. I don't think that I look 20 pounds lighter, but who knows.
I just have a basic digital scale that I got at Target, and it works great. I did notice though that it has to be on a certain place in my bathroom away from any rugs to give me a consistent weight, otherwise I can get on it, get off, and get back on and be 2-3 pounds lighter.
I started to use one of my husband's weights (5lb weight), I put it on the scale once a week to make sure it is weighing me correctly.
