always have. i try so hard to drink it because everyone says how good it is for us and what it does for us. i get it. but i just can't choke it down. my daily fluids include.

5:45am coffee

7:00am coffee

8:00 breakfast

9:00 crystal light 16oz

10:00 fruit

12:00 lunch with a 12 oz diet coke

3pm snack and coffee

5pm coffee

6:30pm dinner with milk

7:30-8pm snack

what do you think? any suggestions for me. I'm a little worred about all the splenda i use. in the coffee, crystal light and diet coke. but i have to flavor the water to drink it. usually people call me crazy because water doesn't taste like anything so how can you hate it? it's not the taste. it's just hard to explain. i do get envious when i see people with their water bottles drinking away!

thanks for your imput

Kat

Try putting slices of lemon in your water, or a tiny bit of concentrated lemon juice. Works for me.

You might try making some ice tea with some yummy decaf teas. You could always add saccharine or aspartame or some other sweetener if you want to limit your sucralose intake.

=^..^= MOLLY

what about sugar free coolaid??
yeah, I feel the same way.  I usually stock multiple flavors of sugar free drink mix or force myself to drink plain water when I'm out of the house.  I'm a bit of an artificial sweetner junkie though...
Glad to see another coffee fan!
How about one buying a bottle of water that have a sports cap, i seem to drink so much more one its in one of those, dont know why but it do.

You could always just drink alot of tea.  Green tea.  Sweet tea isn't a good idea.

Neither is coffee.  Stop that.

I hope you're drinking decaf coffee!  That's a lot of coffee in one day.

I am tired of water, too, so I drink about 2 16-oz. plain glasses a day.  For variety I drink Propel lemon flavor, or the 5 cal lemonade in cans (can't remember the brand, but it's good)  Just putting a slice of lemon in the water does help too.

remember that all that coffee and soda is very dehydrating.....

i notice that when i'm the most dehydrated i actually want water the least, i hate the thought of drinking it when i'm the most dried out... makes no sense, but maybe your that way???

i drink more too when it's in a sports bottle, so maybe try that?  or force yourself to have one glass of water in between other beverages, that way your at least balancing out the other stuff that you like that could be dehydrating you... or drink it all at one time, right in the morning or right at night... try to get some plain water in you... might at least become bearable even if it's not your favorite thing to do :/

otherwise maybe some caffeine free teas?

Some of the bottle waters like Desanti have a better taste than tap. Sometimes that helps with getting the water in.

If you're worried about having a lot of artificial sweetners then buy some low calorie juice and fill a water bottle with half juice and half water.  It's pretty much the same as those crystal light on the go packets, but all natural and tasty!  I have found juices with as low as 40 calories per 8 ounce.

A straw in a cup helps me drink it.  Maybe I'm a toddler at heart.

Also I like my water room temperature, especially when working out.  I hate cold water, it gives me a bellyache.

That said, I also hate plain water in general - I drink an absurd amount of unsweetened tea and tisanes, mostly decaf but not all, and that's been working out great for me.

Long story short, drink your drink, it's too good for you not to.
I hate water too, unless I'm working out. I just buy those flavored waters (without the fructose corn syrup). It has 0 calories, and it doesn't even taste like water!

I drink crystal light or sparkling flavored waters.  I just make sure to account for the cals.  I figure the extra cals are worth making sure I'm hydrated!  I drink a bottle before I leave for work, and bring two liter bottles with me to work.  I can normally get in 64 oz by the time I leave, and then I just drink it as I please.

FYI, crystal light doesn't have splenda in it...it uses aspartame as a sweeter.  Artificially, yes, but if it works...:)

BTW, I don't like water either.  And to me it really is the taste.  Its boring.

The lemon juice thing is great too.

In answer to your query, "what do you think" I think there's a serious caffeine issue going on.  And if you're using splenda, ewwww.  I got used to water by starting out with the sparkling flavoured stuff, diluting it with sparkling plain.  Went on to distilled eventually.  Everyone is different so maybe the caffeine is working out ok for you...  *reaches for water bottle and takes a long swig*

I love water. And yes like someone else said - depending on where you live the tap water might taste worse than bottled. Try a few different brands of bottled water and see if that helps. I also prefer my water very, very cold so I always put a lot of ice in it. I don't like lemon or lime in my water but a lot of people do. Mess around with it and see what you like best!!

Also vitamin water - my personal fave is Whole Foods mango flavored. I don't drink it that often b/c I actually like plain ole agua, but that could be an option. It's relatively low cal, no caffiene, lots of vitamins.

I'm with you sportstergirl! Gotta have my coffee (starbucks and no thanks on the decaf), and yes to splenda. I hate drinking plain water. Lemon helps when I'm out. I do drink it in the gym. I drink flavored water. Sugarfree whatever. It's also harder for me to drink that damn water in the winter. When it's cold out I want something hot. Through it all, I'm still losing weight. Maybe slower, but hey I'm almost to goal. So I'll do it my way!
I like to put lemons or limes in my water...it gives a nice flavor and a vit. C bonus.  At home I drink out of a brita pitcher, at work I refill 3 gallon dispensers from the distilled water dispensers.
i used to hate water as well but now i love it and drink only water other than a cup of coffee in the morning.  i was able to make the transition when i quit drinking soda.  at first i drank some weak iced green tea (no sweetening) and then just started drinking plain water.  i think drinking flavored drinks all the time, especially sweet flavored ones, conditioned my tastebuds.  i tend to enjoy a lot more natural and subtle flavored foods now then i used to and don't crave sweets nearly as much now.

you are taking in way too much caffeine and sugars in that coffee, crystal light, and soda.

That is exactly why you need to drink water, to flush out the sugars.  Otherwise you are always going to feel bloated and retain the little water you take in.

Do yourself a favor, have a coffee in the morning and one in the afternoon, but the rest of the day keep a bottle of water at your desk and keep refilling it.  I found that if I drank it while I was taking a break while reading emails, I didn't realize I was drinking it, and two refilled it like 4 times a day.

After a couple weeks, your body starts craving it.  If you really want, you can find a Wal Mart or Grocery Store and buy water flavor packets to add some flavor.

I also have a huge thing of water in my fridge with sliced limes and lemons in it, that sure adds some zing.

OOOH, i hated water too.

I found a great way to keep drinking H2O!!

I love the different flavored green teas Lipton offers...there is rasberry, orange/jasmine, mint....i just brew them and keep a jug filled with it in the refrigerator...it helps me lose weight, and I dont need any sweetener cuz the water itself is flavored...but keep it light-otherwise you are gonna want sweetener!
