I haven't lost an ounce in over 2 months!
I am finally getting frusterated. 2 months ago I was at 124. I went to visit a friend out of state and when I returned I was back to 130, I thought no big deal, it will come back off. It has been almost two months and I haven't lost a single ounce! I am STILL at 130! I am 5'2, I eat between 1400 - 1700 calories a day, I work out each morning, either 45 minutes on the elliptical, or 30 minutes on the ellipitical and 30 minutes of weights. I have been measuring too, and that has been at a standstill too. So what the heck am I doing wrong?!
Have you checked what your bmr is? It looks like you are doing everything so maybe your body is changing inside. You mention you lift weights so maybe muscle can account for the stall in weight loss - have you taken any measurements of yourself?
Yeah the measurements have stayed the same for a few weeks... I am in a helthy BMR, but on the high end.. I want to be middle to middle low... I am just blah! I don't know what else to do. grrr
I think keep it up - maybe try lowering your calories to around 1500 for a week and see how your weight responds then, also make sure you take at least one day of rest from exercise a week ( i just did this and i have been in a plateau for a month and the scale started to drop again). I guess sometimes our bodies needs a break from all the hard work it has been doing so when you come back to it you feel more refreshed and tend to work a little harder.
Try doing HIIT 3 X a week instead of steady state cardio every day. You can do it on your eliptical.... Warm up a couple minutes and then go as fast as you can for 1 minute then very slow for 2 minutes to let your heartbeat recoup, then repeat for about 15 minutes.

You're talking about BMI, she was referring to BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). That's the min number of calories your body needs to function and you shouldn't eat under that. However, I calculated your BMR at just over 1400 so sounds like you're fine in that department.
All I can suggest is that you're so close to your goal weight that your body just doesn't want to lose anymore. You're at a healthy weight now, so if you want to improve the look of your body, I'd focus less on the cardio and more on the strengthening and toning. Do lots of stretching, pilates, and weight lifting and you'll probably start to see an difference in your measurements again.
Check your body fat composition. you might have lost fat but was replaced by muscle.
My BMR is now set at 1417 calories. I'd been eating 1200 +/- since May, and have been at a weight loss stand still for 27 days. I saw the post yesterday about BMR's, which is why I upped my calories. Have no results to mention after one day. Wish me luck!
The same thing happened to me. I was 132, went away, and gained 8 pounds in a single week! I lost two of those eight--from pure sodium reduction, I think. Then I was eating between 1200 and 1500 hundred calories a day, walking briskly for 100 minutes six days a week, and didn't lose a thing for two months!
I finally broke the ridiculous plateau when i got my period (I hadn't had it for six months). It's frustrating, but give your body a little more time while you're eating well and exercising. It may just need a little while longer to get back into the weight loss swing.
