Headache for a month now!!!! HELP!!!
My head has been hurting in the left side of my head around my left eye for about a month now. I've taken tylenol extra strength, tylenol sinus, one fiorecet pill, penicillin and mucinex. I am limited to what I can take because I'm pregnant. I believe it's sinus related because I have burning in my nose as well. I'm about to lose it here if this headache doesn't go away. It is so frustrating to wake up every day with the same freakin headache. I don't know what else to do. I am getting more scared as each day passes. I've also put hot steaming rags on my face. I've draped a towel over my head and let hot water steam rise and hit my face. I've also taken a hot steaming shower and the headache is still here. Has anyone else experienced this? I've had bad sinus infections before but they've always turned into a head cold or sore throat or something. They've never just prolonged as a headache this long. Can someone please help me because I don't know what else to do. I'm almost in tears right now because I just want it to go away. I can deal with the flu or whatever this is but not a headache for a whole month!!!
Why don't you call your doctor??
I've already been to the doctor last week and she is the one who prescribed the antibiotic penicillin, my obgyn called in the fioricet. So yes I've been to the doctor.

The most logical next step would be to call her and explain what you wrote to us here. We can't help you more than your doctor can...
I realize that and I'm about to call my doctor but I was posting this because I wanted to know if other people have had this problem and if so what did they do about it. I don't expect anyone to diagnose me but just give me some suggestions or ideas of what this could be and post their experiences.

alrighty then, no sorry I can't be of any more help.
I had bad sinuses when I was pregnant, sneezing and blowing my nose every morning for like an hour. As soon as I had my son it went away. As far as the headaches go you may want to think about dehydration. Are you getting enough water? I was getting headaches early on in my pregnancy and my midwife told me to drink more water (8-12 glasses a day)..and it worked. I know thats hard when you're pregnant because of the peeing thing, but you get used to it.
I've been told that sometimes a headache is your body simply telling you when something isn't right with your digestive system (dehydration, constipation, hunger, upset stomach). It could be that once you take care of that problem it will go away. Hope this helps.
I had bad headaches my entire first trimester. Super hydrating is key, so drink lots of water. Mine were only fixed by accupuncture, so give that a try, perhaps?
I go to a chiropractor once a month and get adjusted and i don't have sinus problems anymore. I used to get bad headaches too.

I had headaches like clockwork, every day. Fortunately, tylenol worked for me. I hope the Dr. can get you on something that will clear this up.
Sometimes it takes a while for the antibiotic to run its course, I would say that if your sinuses aren't cleared by the time you are out of antibiotics, it would be time to go back.
I am allergic to penicillin, but they gave me a z-pack while I was pregnant and it fixed me almost immediately. I had pink eye, sinus infection, double ear infection, and upper respiratory infection all at once (thanks kiddos at the day care). Z-packs are a five day course of antibiotics, you might want to ask your doctor.

Are you trying to scare me to death on top of everything else I'm dealing with?
My first trimester I had a headache that would come everyday. It was more like a migraine though. I never got migraines before, but this was bad. Ihad to lay in the dark sometimes. Plus, I had that burning smell in my nose too. Nothing made it go away. Eventually though, it just disappeared. I think it was after twelve weeks or so. The funny thing is, this has happened with the beginning of my last three pregnancies. So, it could just be your bodies response to all the extra hormone action thats going on now. Hang in there because if it is the same as what I had, it will eventually run its course. Good luck!
Have you ever heard of foot zoning? Through foot zoning the zoner can see what is out of wack in your body. The zoner may be able to figure out what is causing the head aches, as well as, how to fix the head aches.
Hi There!
Hope you feel a bit better- please call your doctor asap. A few years back I suffered from glukoma of the eye- it's massive eyepressure and needs treatment. A telltale sign is extreme headache and pain just around the eye.
I don't want to scare you- but it can be a serious problem if not treated.
Please let us know how you are doing!

I suffered from migraines before becoming pregnant. I still get headaches often that last for long periods of time. My husband read a study that concluded the best non-medicinal way to treat migraines is to literally chug a large bottle of Gatorade. It seems to help me even when Extra Strength Tylenol doesn't work.
I actually mentioned these constant headaches to my doctor at my 24 week appointment and she said that it's very common in pregnancy but lately she's seen a lot of women suffer migraines when severe weather fronts move in. I do agree that the best thing to do would be asking your doctor.
HOORAY!!! My head finally feels better. I still have some pain in my head but it's not in my eye anymore. I think the antiobiotics are finally working and the sudafed without that ingredient that's in the bad medications. Whew what a relief to not have that sharp pain in my eye anymore. That was so frustrating. I hope I never have it again. I still feel that I have some conjestion in my head that I need to get out but I will keep taking medicine until I feel totally better. Thanks for all the replies.
Good, yay for you! Sometimes antibiotics are just TOO slow :) I'm glad you feel better.
