We got the inside all done... but only got a few things outside so far... we can't find a bunch of stuff!!  Stupid move... I thought we stayed organized... but obviously not!!  I'll have to do some more digging around!!!

What about your weekend??  Anything exciting??

i didnt do much, just got some much needed cleaning and lounging done! we did drive around an area that we are leaning towards buying in. its a nice, established area that loks like a good place for a family. now if we could only figure out if we can afford it or not!

Hey guys!!  Omg, I had 2 margs and I was so buzzed.  I ended up eating nachos...um, thanks KT!!!  Lol  You talk so much about nachos I didn't realize I wanted some until I saw them on the menu.  The only thing is they were much greasier than I what I usually eat so my tummy did NOT like me at all later that night and the whole next day and some Saturday too.  Wow!!  But they did taste pretty good. 

I have been slacking on my journaling and food logging and was slacking on my exercises.  This morning I woke up at a freakish 5am and couldn't fall back asleep.  When 5:45 hit I figure I might as well get out of bed and sneak in a workout.  Um yeah...that turned into a 4 mile run on the treadmill...woah!!!  WTH??  I'm not complaining, just curious what got into me.  Lol

I feel like a bad friend.  I've been so inconsistent coming online lately.  SORRY!!!!

we all need a breather sometimes val. dont worry about it. it obviously did some good since u were abke to bust out that run this morning! thats awesome! nachos sound good! my nacho place isnt very greasy so i love it. mmmmm

ive been watching bl. i was so sad when coleens dad left but it was probably good since the game seemed a little too intense for him. i cant wait for it tonight!

I am such a wuss...I cried when that whole scene happened with Coleen and her dad and the back and forth they had in deciding.  You are so right though, TBL is too intense a spot for him to be in considering his limitations and the nature of the show.  I was very glad to see his more current stuff though. 

I am challenging myself to do 1500 minutes of exercise this month.  I was able to do it in August but that was probably because I was able to do a lot outdoors.  I even joined the October challenge here on CC to keep me in check.  Yikes, and  I'm already behind in my minutes.  D'oh!!!  I don't want to let up too much...the holidays are fast approaching.  If I think losing is hard now it'll be worse in just a few short weeks!!! C'mon Kt...Sheila...let's try harder to get a head start on the holiday season.  What do ya say???

i agree val, its going to be so hard over the holidays! i had hoped to get down to 170 by the end of the year, but that seems pretty elusive right now. i have at least stopped the gaining, so im once again aiming to get under 180 soon. maybe i can aim for 175 by turkey day. thats about 7 pounds. i just have to do something. im backing off from the cardio and focusing on weights, hoping to tighten up this flab. i would be thrilled if i could be a size 12 by dec!

Ooh, I'd be happy with a 5 pound loss by turkey day. 

I'm still trying to add in more weight training.  I did 2 sessions of weights last week.  I big time upped the pounds too.  I promised myself I'd do the bowflex tonight.  I don't want to let up on the cardio since it's my "zen" time.  If I could close my eyes while I did cardio I'd be so content.  But nope, I know I'd fall flat on my face if I tried.  Lol 

Okay, waking up so early this morning is starting to catch up to me.  They're drilling into cement in a room behind the room that's behind me and it is LOUD!!!  It's driving me nuts...but I can still easily fall asleep. 

 

I've just been hearing a lot that focusing more on weights and diet helps more than cardio, but some cardio is important. I still do a cardio warmup, but if I go to the gym, I won't be doing only cardio. I do really enjoy running now, though. Did I tell you I'm doing a half marathon in February? I'm excited!

So did you leave with a migraine? I can't believe they were drilling into cement!!!

ok, so after lunch I stood up and was 100% exhausted! I seriously almost went home early so I could go to bed. But some stuff come up and I stayed. I ate a snickers to stay awake, but that's okay. I've got a couple baked potatoes in teh oven right now. yum!

Edit: Ok, so I ate 2 baked potatoes for dinner w/ a little smart balance and cheese. I am still starving. I feel like I haven't eaten anything tonight. I don't know why I am still so hungry. I think I'll pop some popcorn to eat while I watch BL. I would much rather have some cake or ice cream or something!

No, no migraine.  It was really annoying though.  And when they stopped drilling my ears felt like I was at a dance club all night.  I think they're done.  Hopefully!!!

No, you didn't mention the half marathon.  How far is that, 12 miles?  The Chicago Marathon is coming up soon and one of the guys I work with (who always asks about my workouts) asked if I was doing that.  Now I know why you laughed at Sheila and me earlier this year when we kept confusing marathons with 5k's...I told him NO WAY can I do the Chicago Marathon...I think that's either 25 or 27 miles.  Is your half marathon going to be a full blown run?  WOW!!!  That must involve a lot of training.

I heard the same thing about weight training and weight loss.  That's why I keep trying to work it in.  Sadly, I only got in 10 minutes of weights last night before I was like...Ugh...I'm so sleepy.  Lol  I really should try again tonight.  I didn't work myself hard enough so doing 2 days in a row shouldn't be a problem.

I had a taste for popcorn last night too.  Pft, I would've much rather cake or ice cream too.  In fact, I've been wanting an ice cream cone (soft serve) for about a month or so now.  Mmmm...soft serve.

mmmm we are ordering burritos for lunch! im starving and i dont think a little lean cuisine will do the trick. and my fiance will probably bring home yumy dessert for me because i tell him everynight that i want dessert. im going to the gym so its ok.

the half is 13.1 miles. i will run as much as i can, but im doing it with my cousin so we will go at her pace. im sure i could do a lot faster solo but id rather have a running buddy.

my left knee is bugging me, which worries me because thats the knee i twisted pretty bad about 4 years ago and i suspect it never healed properly. so im alwas afraid of it dislocating or twisting again. well see how it feels when i run tonight.

I'd rather have a buddy doing something as long as that than do it solo too.  It makes time fly faster.  Heehee, and as Sheila knows...I'll talk your ear off!!! 

Yummm, burritos.  I was hungry earlier and probably will be in about an hour again but I had my soup/sandwich combo at lunch...oh, about 45 minutes ago.  Before that I had my oatmeal with banana and some strawberries.  I finally did a little bit of shopping on Monday.

What does your fiance bring for dessert?  Mine had a taste for coffee cake on Sunday...he went out a bought an Entenmann's cheese coffee cake.  Omg, I had *cough* 3 pieces.Embarassed  I barely ate the rest of the day because that stuff is DANGEROUSLY caloric, and for such tiny pieces!!!  Lol 

Oh and about your knee...are you icing it when it is sore?  I hope it isn't anything too serious.  Did it just start happening?  Are your workout shoes wearing out? 

hmmm well it doesnt look like he bruoght me any dessert. way to get my hopes up! coffee cake sounds sooo good! mmmm yea i wouldn't be able to leave that alone.

I don't ice it at all. It isn't very often that it hurts. My shoes seem to be ok. I was able to run fine tonight, only my shins were bugging me. I guess I won't worry about it too much.

So I have a work comp training the next 2 days. IT will be nice to not be in the office, but that means I'll have to eat lunch out and I won't have my normal foods. I think I'll do alright. At least I won't be snacking all day. I just have so much stuff at work so it's hard to be away from it right now. I'm sure it will all be okay. I will still be checking in during the day so dont' forget about me!

About your knee, well that's good that it isn't often.  Mine knee will hurt once in a great big while and I'll ice it when that happens and then it is fine.  I assume it is old age.  Shh....did I say that??  D'oh!! 

Have fun at computer school!  Tongue out  I'm sure you'll do fine at lunch.  I think we're both pretty good at picking (or at least knowing) what we should pick when we're out.  Hmm, but whether we actually do it is another story.  Innocent

When do you start training for the half marathon?

Tonight is eat out night.  I want to try to do another 4 miles on the treadmill.  I'm slowly increasing my distance and speed.  I can do 4.5-5mph for a decent length of time.  It is so cool to be able to. 

Shoot, I remember when I was a kid my dad tried taking us for a jog around a park and I pooped out after about a block-maybe just a few minutes.  He, my sister and brother all left me and I felt like total crap that I couldn't keep up or have any stamina.  Ever since then I've always wanted to be able to do this.  I still can't keep up with my sister but I can blow my brother out of the water.  Yep, that's probably where my competative nature comes from.

You have made sooo much progress Val! You are just a speed demon lol. You should be so proud of yourself.

Well I did horrible for lunch. I hit mcdonalds. o well. I was starving! It was a much easier decision since my weight was up today. I will do better tomorrow. I did see a La bou so I'll go there maybe. We luckily got out early today which was nice. We shoudl get out pretty early tomorrow too, so I'll try and go for a run afterwards. I don't want to do too much b/c I don't watn to be tired or sore for my race on sunday.

You are funny Kt.  So you weighed less today?  Congrats!  I know that even though it isn't the number you REALLY want to see, it still is nice to see a lower number from one day to the next. 

I stayed the same for 2 days but I'm still up from earlier in the week.  No biggie, it's still the same number I've seen on many occassions.

This will probably be our last nice weekend over here.  It's been ugly for a while and it's supposed to be nice (70's) the next couple days.  This late in the year usually means this is IT for nice weather, no more, nada.

I'm waiting to hear from a friend of mine who hasn't said if she is in on going to the pumpkin farm next weekend.  If she says she's in I'm going to ask if we can go after 1pm.  There is a 5k being done for the UofC Children's hospital next Saturday that I want to do.  Lil'V was sent to that hospital when she was born.  You know...cause of all the complications that happened.  It'd be nice to bring her back there, me do the 5k and get her to do the kids dash.

Only an hour and a half left of work.  I'm jealous Kt...you already left work!

Left work? I just got home a half hour ago from my training. We got out at 3:30 or so. I did good today and bought a chinese chicken wrap from la bou. But I am soooo hungry now! I need to have dinner going once my fiance gets home so there is no temptation to eat out!

It's nice here too, about the 70s. But it's super windy which sucks. It's going to be pretty cool on race day which will be good and bad. I'd be happy if it werea  few degrees warmer.

any big plans for this weekend?

good morning!!! my tri season is over! im so excited. im also very tired. yesterday took a lot out of me. i wrote a journal on it. my dad had a lot of problems yesterday and crashed, so his day did not go as planned. we were going to have a good race too! but hes ok, just hurting a bit.

this is going to be a crazy week. im doing an auction tonight, soccer game tomorrow and possibly hitting a bar, gym on wed, then dont know what. im already freakin exhausted though!

HEY!!!  Boy oh boy was I swamped here at work today.  I'm finally taking a breather.

I'm glad to hear the race went well!  What happened with your dad?  He got into an accident??  I have to go read your journal.  I wanted to post in here ASAP so you didn't think I bailed on you.
