That is cool that you "ran into" another cc'er.  She says (in your journal) you look so physically fit...hmm, I think we're both really hard on ourselves.  LOL!!

You really are inspiring.  I was thinking about you this weekend but of course mostly yesterday.  Yesterday was the Chicago Marathon.  I know it's not the same thing but it still got me thinking of you.  I may have to consider following your lead and attempt a half marathon too.  Um...maybe I should start with trying for a 10k first though.  D'oh!!!

My weekend was ok.  I finally tackled my garden.  All but one of my tomato plants are completely gone.  I was so surprised the one made it.  I babied the heck out of it.  My pepper plants survived too.  Then I did some fall yard prep work.  Um...I skipped out on exercising though.  I kicked myself in the rear over it too.  The more I keep thinking of you though the more I know I can push through this rut I've been in.

thanks val! i def wear clothes that dont make me look so bad, i am not fit! i will have pix of the race. im hoping the finish line pic looks good w/ my dad. hes sore today, but hopefully hell be feeling better soon.

i bet u got some good exercise in if u were in the garden! dont doubt urself. that goes for the 10k too. i know u can do that. then its on to a half marathon!

Ok, I logged everything I've eaten today. I'm trying to get myself back on track with that.  I also ran to Blockbuster and back...4 miles.  I love the way I feel after working out but haven't had the umph to gittrdone!  Thanks for the vote of confidence Kt!! 

You are one crazy girl...I still can't get over that you did and totally accomplished so many tri's this season.

How is the house hunting going?  You fell into a great time to be a buyer.  Are you noticing prices falling much by you?

yea, prices have fallen a lot. Like, my parents sold theri house a few years ago for almost $500,000 adn it has sold twice since, the most recent time for $300something. A lot of houses that would be over $400,000 are under $300,000. so we are hoping to be able to purchase under $300,000. I'm really hoping we can buy something next year. I worked at an auction tonight, though, and most of the homes didn't sell b/c ppl weren't bidding on them. So it's definitely weird.

That's awesome that you got some exercise in tonight. YOu will get back on track easily.

So I went straight to the auction after wrok, so no dinner except fora  jamba juice. Then I grabbed del taco on my way home at 10pm. Not good, but i was starving. I have a soccer game tomorrow, which means I won't be eating dinner before the game probably.

So I did sign up for that 5k for this coming Saturday after all.  I signed up the kid for the kids dash too.  I'm really hoping to finish under 38:30.  Pft, I'll need it because I intend on buying a few chocolate cover pretzel rods and some candy apples from the pumpkin farm later that day.Tongue out Lol

You better be careful at the soccer game.  Are you considering keeping up with playing?  What do you think about wearing shin guards?

thats cool ur doin a 5k this weekend. and the treats afterwards will be good motivation to boogey!

we have to wear shin guards for soccer. u def would not want to play without them. the auctions are only foreclosed homes, so they sell lower than what they are worth.

well im not too tired yet, but i expect it will hit me this afternoon. i wish i could take a nap lol

Ooooohhh, the dreaded 3 o'clock crash.  That's how I always put it when I know I'm tired but don't feel it yet.  I always seem to crash at around 3.  The game should give you a surge of energy and then you'll really really be tired.  Are you still thinking you'll be getting drinks afterward?

I totally forgot about drinks! haha i guess not! I wouldn't have gone anyways. the soccer game was good. We played a super good team and I held my own. by the end of the games, my legs are just weak. I came home and had a couple baked potatoes. teh bad thing is that that was at 10pm lol. O well, i was hungry!

Tomorrow there is a lunch for one of the guys who's retiring. I have no idea what that means lunch will be. I just have to keep my snacks in check, which I did pretty good at this morning. I've started eating toast inthe morning which has helped.

How was your day? Have things at work calmed down some? Are you gearing up for your race?

Are you all going out for the retirement lunch or are they catering/ordering in?  We're supposed to have one of those parties pretty soon too.  The CFO...my boss's boss is retiring at the end of the year.

I went and did a bit of light grocery shopping last night and bought a bag of potatoes.  I had a baked potato for dinner too.  AND, I ate late too...9:30-ish.  Hmm, go figure.  Lol  I had beans with it and boy oh boy was my fiber HIGH for the day!!!  I woke up hungry this morning though...stomach growling and all.  I've had a taste for potatoes. 

Work hasn't really calmed down much.  I got that new property I was telling you about and holy cow is it big!!  I knew it was but I guess I didn't realize HOW big.  Anyway, it's taking a majority of my time.  Once it's all leased it should calm down.  Who knows when that'll happen though considering.  Eh, once I get used to the new stuff I'll get faster too so that'll help. 

Yup, I'm getting ready for the race.  I didn't run last night but I did do weights.  I added some leg lifts on my bowflex routine.  I will run again tonight and tomorrow and put some more leg lifts in there too.  My shoulders are SORE from last night's workout.  I went up to 40 pounds on some of the exercises.

I guess we were both in the mood for potatoes last night! they are soooo good! How big is the property? Will it take al ong time to lease out?How was your run tonight? I was sore from soccer so I couldn't run much.

The lunch today was catered. I had a roll, lots of salad, a rib, and some chicken. The downfall was the 2 pieces of cake! haha but it was good. And I didn't have a snack in the afternoon so it's ok. I went to the gym and did weights. I was on the treadmill for a little over a half hour, but was mostly walking. I was just sore from soccer. Then we went to dinner w/ the fiance's dad at chinese. I didn't do too bad.

Tomorrow is boss' day so we are doing a potluck. It's all about portion control! Hopefully I can stick tot aht. No exercise tomorrow and probably for a couple days. I am just soooo exhausted. I need a break. But of course, that means I gain even more weight! I swear, my lowest was 180 and now I float around 184. It's killing me. I am doing more weights and less cardio, but htat doesnt explain it. I guess it all comes down to eating. But I'm pretty sure I didnt eat THAT much! And it's not just the scale, it's my body. My stomach feels and looks huge. So I need to change. I know I keep saying htat, and I don't knwo what happens everytime. I need a kick in the pants!

Well, right now, so far, the property has +35 stores spread over 5 buildings.  I don't know how long our leasing guy will take to fill it all up.  As we speak, they're constructing a condo building that'll connect to it.  That'll be added to my load when construction is done.  WOW!!!  It's pretty interesting stuff.

My run was very good.  I really pushed myself.  I did 4.125 miles.  Tonight I'm going to get back with the weights and maybe do a walk on the treadmill.  If I do I'll incline it. 

I try to do that too, lots of salad when it's available at our parties. 

I clocked in this morning at 170.4.  My fluctuations are staying around that area no matter what.  My arms and legs look good but I still have all that flab around my mid section...my hips, my tires, my side boobs.  Yell  And everytime I read someone's thread in the fitness forum about others' similar issues, the respondents always say the same stuff...lower your bmi, lose that last bit of weight, work on weight lifting....etc.  We're tryin', RIGHT?!?!?!? 

yep val, its that whole lower body that bugs me. my legs have improved but can still be better. its just my gut that kills me! its only the front too. i am thinkin of doin the new rules of lifting for women. i should go skim through the book, but ppl swear by it.

good job on ur run! and i forgot to say good job bumpin up those weights! u are doing great. i cant wait to be at 170, though im starting to doubt that will ever happen.

im pretty much going to have a sugar overload today. im starving and have a headache. no fluctuation from my chinese last night, which makes me think maybe my real weight is lower than this stupid 184. maybe im just eating too much sodium too late at night, so my body cant get back to normal. ill try having a good dinner at a decent hour tonight and see what happens!

I majorly crashed this afternoon! omg I am soooo tired. It's after 8 and I haven't even eaten dinner and I don't think I will. If I'm really hungry, I'll eat an apple and some grapes or something. I just need to be stronger mentally. I want to just fast for a couple days to get myself back together. I took some laxatives to try and at least clear out and feel lighter. A fast really wouldn't be bad.

Happy FRIDAY!!!  Did you catch up on some rest Kt?  Did you end up eating dinner?  Or did you snack it?

I didn't do any exercises yesterday.  I was a bad girl.  Lol  I knew it would happen if I sat down on the couch...and I sat down anyway.  Once I planted my ass there it grew roots and I never did get up.  I had a decent dinner.  Finally, I made meat, potatoes, and veggies.  It seems like forever since I've done something so basic.

Tomorrow is the race and then the pumpkin farm.  It should be a pretty fun Saturday. 

I couldn't do a fast.  I'd get too hungry and then cranky-scary cranky.  Embarassed 

Woohoo, I saw 168.2 on the scale this morning!!!  Now that's a NEW number!!!  Laughing  I'm sure it'll go back up from there again but seeing that new number gives me a renewed sense of hope.

Hey ladies... sorry been crazy busy... and well a little depressed....

The good news is I'm finally out of the 220s... the bad news is it's the wrong way.... I'm back in the 230s.... how crappy is that?!?!?!  So I've been kind of discouraged and you guys are both doing so great... it's hard to come in here when I feel like that....

And it's SO not your fault... so don't you dare apologize... I'm glad you guys are doing so great... you're working your butts off and you deserve it!!!  

School is getting to a busy season again.... We're already looking at applying to practicums for next year, I'm doing extra hours at my current practicum, figuring out registration for next semester, completely starting over on my CRP... etc etc etc!!!

And the holidays are always a little crazy... scheduling everything... lots of birthdays, etc.  Plus I haven't seen my husband all week!!!  So I've been a little cranky too....

Sorry for the rant guys... I'm trying to pull myself outta the funk.....

awww im sorry sheila. where is the hubby? and ive gained a few pounds back myself. i am not doing well. just pluggin along though. i hope you fel better! do something fun this weekend!

i only had a bowl of ice cream last night. i was too tired and not really hungry. im going out tonight. ill make sure to have a very light dinner. i need a fun night for once!

They changed his schedule again... so now we're almost opposite!! I'm in bed before he gets home... and gone before he gets up!!  Very annoying....   That's been part of the problem with eating actually... depressing cooking for just myself....

That's horrible about the changed schedule Sheila!!  How long is he stuck with it?

poor sheila! that would be really hard to both be home but not even see each other. you should do something fun together this weekend.

well i think im sick. ive been freezing all day, have a headache, and my stomach hurts. im trying to stick it out the rest of the workday though. i dont think ill be going out tonight now. hopefully im not sick al weekend!

I'm so excited!!!  I finished my race at 37.25!!!!  WAHOOO!!!!  It was windy and some mild and a couple steep inclines (Lake Shore Drive underpasses) and it was COLD!!  It was still beautiful to be running along the lake, wind and all.  And I still finished much better than I had expected!!  I think I caught a cold-sniffles/sneezes.  I was telling hubby it'd be neat if the race went by Barack Obama's house...nope, it didn't.  It was held in his neighborhood.

The pumpkin farm was fun too.  I went up that 2-story slide they have.  Which means I climbed the rope ladder to the top each time.  I also indulged in the taffy apples (1) and chocolate covered pretzel sticks (3).  I didn't notice the barrels of apples this time.  No really fresh apples this year I guess. 

Man, I wish I could run along the lake shore more often...too nice!
