WTG Val... that's awesome for that kind of terrain!!!  

Sorry I've been MIA... been busy of course!!  We went to Starved Rock for Mother's Day on Saturday for the in-laws... definitely got my exercise in that day!! My calves were really sore the next 2 days from all the climbing!!!  It was really nice out that day though... nice and cool and Quincy loved it!!!

Well my crazy schedule started today.... I get to get up at 5am Tues-Fri... yuck!!!!  Plus a TON of driving... double yuck!!  That's what I meant about staying in Dixon last week, Val... I just spent the night there cause I had to work 3 days and I was sick of all the driving!!!  It was so nice to just relax at night and in the morning!!!  I won't be able to do that anymore though......

Well I'm going to try really hard to get out in that nice weather this evening... even though it's depressing that I have to go to bed in a few hours!!!!

sorry i've been mia too! i've been so busy with workouts and other things....was hardly home over the weekend too. Saturday I did our run wrkout, then babysat my nieces, then went to a wedding. sunday I went out fora  43 mile ride, had enough time ot eat adn then leave to buy my mom's present and go to their house. I was soooo tired by sun night! IT was a good weekend though. I did a swim last night and a run tonight. My body is tired though so tomorrow i am resting!

On the food front, I'm back on teh diet this week. I have a dress fitting next thursday followed by a weekend at the beach so I need to lose a few before then! I'm stll hanging out at about 170 so i need to get to 160 still. I'm trying to be good but I work out enough that I can still be a little lenient.

Val, that is an awesome time for such a tough race! There are fast courses and slower courses, just depends on teh terrain. You won't have your best tme on a tough course. when is your next race going ot be? Are you still running outside with the neighbor girl?

sheila, that sucks about the 5am wake up! Hopefully that will mean you get to really enjoy teh weekend and you can sleep in. Sounds like a fun hike on mothers day too. I can def understand why you were sore! ouch!

well i will definitely be trying to get on here more frequently again! at least take a few minutes to say hi!

Hey, it's nice to see you two back!  I know how it is to be too busy to get on here, no worries. 

Sheila, that is a crazy drive!!  And a crazy time to have to wake up!!!  I feel for you, that's for sure.  How long do you have to be at that place?  Did you get out to enjoy the weather last night?  It got pretty cold after a while.  I hope you were already in by then.

Kt, WOW!!!  A 43 mile ride!?!?!?  And you swam the next day??  It's no wonder your body is tired as heck.  Enjoy your rest day today. 

I've been fighting with myself to get back on being good in the food front too.  Once you fall off that wagon, it's so hard to get back on full force...for me anyway.  When I'm being good, I'm really good, but when I'm off it takes forever to get me back on.

I do still run with the neighbor girl but not as often as I'd (or she'd) like.  Between all this rain, on & off cold weather, and baseball...I'm not finding enough time to fit it all in.  I haven't gone grocery shopping in 2 weeks now!! 

I'm going to try to get a ride done tonight on the incumbent bike since it'll be raining/storming all day today. 

Ugh... home sick today... BUT.... this is the first time I've been throwing up since before my surgery which was at the very beginning of March!!!  So 3 months is a lot better than several times a week!!!  

KT - that is a definitely a crazy ride!!!  Do you have a special seat??  I was looking at those in the store the other day cause I get bike butt bad!!  

Val - we still haven't seen you on Facebook!!!  

Sheila...no, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.  You were throwing up?  Do you have the stomach flu?  Yuk!!!

I'm so excited...22 days and counting for Disney!!!  WOOHOOO!!!!!

Practice yesterday was rained out.  We went and picked up a few groceries instead but didn't make a full blown trip.  We definitely have to do that sometime this weekend.  We are completely out of all and any fruits.  We have no snacks or juice pouches for Lil'V's friends for when they come over.  Kids are ALWAYS hungry!!!  And I'm out of my newest favorite snack...edaname.

How did you rest day go Kt?  Did you actually rest??  I know you have a hard time staying down like that.  How many days til the wedding now? 

ooo disney! how exciting! disneyworld I'm guessing? Glad you got to the store to get some stuff tonight. I hate beign out of everything! did you get stuff to make the food front go better?

my ride was nice and my butt surprisingly didn't hurt too bad. It just gets kinda numb lol. I have a special seat but I could probably use a better one. i did rest yesterday. Tehn I went to the bar w/ the girls from the group. My fiance was all pissed at me when I got home b/c he says I'm never home adn I train too much. I don't even train as much as I should and I tried to be home a little more but apparently it's not enough. So I guess Ihave to make a bigger effort to seem like I'm home. It's just irritating whenI'm trying to do well and train hard and he gets on me about this. I'm hopefully going ot do a half ironman in october so I have to work my butt off for that. And if I"m not working out, I'm just home doing nothing so it's stupid! ugh....so frustrating.

But I did a hard run workout tonight. it was about 4 miles witha  lot of speed work and strength drills. Definitely kicked my butt! I've definitely gotten back into gear. I was 174.5 on Monday and today I was 170. I know i'ts partly sodium but I feel good. Hopefully I can lose a couple more pounds by thursday when I go for a dress fitting. Tehn I can enjoy camping and the boardwalk and get some funnel cake!!! yummmy!

Unfortunately my grocery trip didn't include a whole lot of stuff for me.  The only fruit/veggie I picked up was oranges. 

It sounds like you'll have to work out your workouts around his "at home" schedule so you're there when he's there.  That can be hard.  I've been waiting on my dh to give me the same type of speech.  I'm sure it'll come once I'm working out outside more. 

You're aiming to do a half Ironman!?!?!?!  How cool is that!!!  And I'm sitting here contemplating doing a 10k before the end of race season.  Pft...small potatoes by comparison!!!  You go GIRL!!!

I didn't get to do an official workout last night myself.  We took Lil'V to the local forest preserve to practice solo.  Yes, there was a bunch of running on my part but nowhere near what I need for it to be considered a workout (to me).  Hubby and Lil'V were wiped out though.  Tongue out

No KT... I was just sick that one day thank goodness!!!  Just my normal stomach thing... I'm not sure if I'll ever "grow out" of it... but at least it's a lot less since my surgery!!!!  That was the first time since the surgery which was like 3 months ago already.... and before that it was like 3-4 times a week... so... MUCH better!!!

That's funny about the numb butt... lol!!  Does your fiance ever come work out with you??  That way you could still spend some time together!!  And double OMG about the half ironWOman... you go girl!!!!  

Val - disney must be so exciting!! I've never been and want to go so bad!!!  You should so do the 10k!!  Didn't you do one last season???  

So I'm debating using the money that I've been spending on practicum towards a gym membership and a personal trainer... but da-aymn they're expensive!!!  What do you guys think.... worth it???  I would definitely only be able to afford the trainer once a week... kind of the bare minimum!!  But of course I would still have the regular gym access...  I feel guilty spending all that money when we're trying to save every penny for when those student loans come due!!!

Anyways... we went to look at travel trailers for our vacation this year... I think it'll be super fun and it'll be cheaper than staying in hotels for a week!!  Plus it'll be kind of like bringing home along with us and Quincy can come and all that!!!  There's a pic of one we looked at on Facebook, KT... I would say Val too... but you haven't joined yet!!!   Tongue out

HOLY COW LADIES!!!!!!  Lil'V had 2, almost back to back games yesterday.  The second started about 2 hours after the first game ended.  Anyway....Her team won both games AND!!!!  AND!!!  Lil'V was awarded the game ball in the first game!!!  WOOOOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm going down to the mall at lunch today to buy her a display/trophy case for the ball.  I've been having a hard time getting her to realize how important it is she practice and how much her team needs her to try her best.  Well, she sees now!!  As she was falling asleep she told me she wants to practice with me and the neighbor girl (the one I run with) tonight.

Sheila...I'll just say this as far as the personal traner...I so wish I could go that route.  I think it'd be a huge benefit.  If you can afford only 1 session a week that's enough to get you started, no?  Kt has much more experience with that though.

Trailers for vacation!?!?  I'd so love to do something like that one of these days!!!

Well we went ahead and signed up for the gym.... they had a good deal going on.... (been monitoring for a while and waiting for a good one)... but I'm still debating about the personal trainer.... I do get an hour session free as part of our new membership... so I guess I'll see how that goes first....

So I bought the Cook Yourself Thin cookbook!!! Which was tough cause it was sold out most places!!!  Did you guys ever catch the show??  I really like the book... usually I only like a few recipes from books like that... but this one... there's only a few I don't like!!!  And even those I can probably tweak to my tastes!! 

That sounds like a good idea Sheila...to see how the first, free session goes.  Watch out though, from what I understand they get very salesperson-like. 

I haven't watched that show.  I'm terrible with cookbooks....um, actually using them.  I have more patience for cookbooks in the winter though...you know, since it takes longer to make something from a cookbook it helps warm up the house so I get double the benefit. 

I took a run last night when I got home since Lil'V had friends over.  Then...while I kept DH company as he watched wrestling, I did some weights.

You guys will never believe this but this morning I actually got up early enough to get a run in BEFORE work.  Surprised  That is completely unheard of for me.  My eyes are sleepy but I'm telling you, I feel all pumped up in my body.  I'm going to have to make an effort to do that more often!!!

I'm not sure when I'll do my free session... I want to make sure I have time to enjoy it and I'm crazy busy and stressed right now!!  I can definitely see them getting sales focused.... we'll see how the session goes though!!

Well today definitely sucked... crazy bitch boss again... long story... but she was in fine form.... I'm just not sure how much more I can take!!  If I didn't need this for school I woulda been outta there months ago.....

I could just really use a break from all this school crap but there doesn't seem to be one in sight!!!  Sorry... just especially stressed right now........  Embarassed

Ha, I found the downfall of exercising that early.  Even though I had a cup of chocolate milk immediately after my run...about 150 more cals than I usually take in, I had my oatmeal, a banana, my lunch sandwich, an orange and well, by the time 3pm rolled around I was starving as heck.  My stomach was getting loud and obnoxious!!!  I got to lil'V's baseball game directly after work, mentioned to Dh how hungry I was; he bought me a hot dog.  Great.  I scoured that thing down like there was no tomorrow.  Then I got home, cracked open a beer and downed a bunch of tortilla chips.  ARGH!!!  There goes another day down the drain of watching my intake.  I don't blame him, I'm just so mad at myself for not containing myself.  The chocolate milk supposedly helps curb your appetite and replenishes your nutrients.  Yeah, right.  Whoever thought that up and swears by it must never have met me!!  I do have to admit the chocolate milk did taste good.  Lol 

I'll never lose any more weight if I don't get myself under control with everything.  I'm so aggravated with trying and not seeing crap as far as results.  I just want to throw my hands up and say what's the f-n point!?!?!?!

I can relate lately with boss' from hell.  I think there must've been a damn seminar that all attended...it was called "How to drive your employees up the wall, har har har har"  I hear they even passed out brooms and warts!!!

I wouldn't wait until you have time to enjoy it.  You'll never have that.  Once you get there and get through it you'll likely find you enjoyed it, whether you felt you had time for it or not. 

Woohoo!!!  3-day weekend here we come!!!!!!!!

I am so glad, I need the break from the people here at work.

hey val! I'm so sorry for deserting you! How was your weekend? did you do another early morning workout? It's tough int eh beginning to get up and run in the morning, but it gets easier. I like it because it gives me time to do somehting in the afternoon since I already got my workout in. I figure, even if I only run for 30 minutes or so, I can spare that little bit of sleep. Try it again and see how it goes!

Well I've been super busy. I had my dress fitting last thursday so I didn't eat much teh few days prior. They are taking it in a lot which makes me feel great! Friday night we left for camping in santa cruz. I did a bike ride on the half ironman course with my dad so I could get a feel for it. I'm pretty sure I"ll do the half ironman in october. I'm scared but i think i can do it! We came home sunday. Monday I did a 43 mile ride and went to a friend's bbq. it was soo good! Now I need to get bck on track as far as my eating goes. No more slacking!

O and i got a cool new phone. it's the tmobile google g1. It's basically like the iphone. Pretty awesome! It should make it easier for me to check in wth you guys during the day!

How exciting is that that they'll be bringing your dress in a lot!!!  You have to definitely admit now that you've shrunk!!!  Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Any difference on the weight front?  Are you in the 60's yet?  You're really kicking but with your bike rides, that's for sure!!

I'd be nervous about the half-Ironman but I know you can do it.  How much of a difference is it in comparison to other Tri's you've done?  How was the course you checked out?

Getting the eating under control isn't as hard during the week, it's the weekend that kills it for me.  How about you?

I haven't tried doing another AM run yet.  I have to make a conscious effort to get to bed at least a half hour-45 minutes earlier than usual.  I do want to try for more of them though.

My dh will be so jealous of you when I tell him about your new phone.  He wants me to get that for him for Christmas.  Lol

Happy Friday again!!  One more week and I'm on vacation!!!  WOOHOO!!!  I cannot wait!!!!  Yes, I'm screaming a lot. Cool

We went to Famous Dave's for dinner yesterday...my pick.  Oh boy, I totally forgot how much fat is on rib tips.  I spent most of the dinner picking away the fat.  Hey, I'm trying, right?  It was probably for the best anyway, it took me so long to eat I didn't even eat half of what they served before I was full.  Um...which doesn't really say much because they serve a LOT of food.  I did make the effort and ate the corn on the cob first at least! 

Well, Lil'V has back to back ball games tomorrow so that'll take up a lot of the day.  I hope they have as much luck as they did the last few games. 

Oh yeah, Wednesday I did my incumbent bike.  I did 2 programs.  The first one was a little tough but I still had more in me when I was done so I decided to do a second program.  Oh yeah, that second one really worked me!!  Yikes!!  I'm going to have to try that again.  I just hate that the bike workouts don't help me burn as much as the running but I have to keep remembering that I have to vary it up with my cardio.  Ugh, why do I have such hard time with variation???

Any new news on the wedding plans Kt?

So I have an interview Monday for a practicum site!!!  Hopefully it'll work out so I can just move on from the hell I'm in now!!!
