Healthy Chocolate Smoothie
I tried it two ways and wanted to share.
I haven't had any chocolate in months and really wanted some yesterday. But I wanted chocolate without the cream and excess sugar.
So yesterday I added the following in a blender as an experiment:
1/2 frozen banana (frozen is important when adding to a smoothie it creates a much thicker, creamier texture. Same with other fruit.)
1/2 tsp Hershey's Cocoa - Natural unsweetened (not the dark)
1 tsp Polaner Seedless Blackberry jam to give it sweetness without having to add table sugar. I thought the blackberry really lended itself to the flavor of the chocolate. You could of course use any jam you want. Just make sure it has NO high fructose corn syrup, artifical sweeteners or hydrogenated oils. The kind I used had all natural ingredients so the sugar was from fruits.
-about 3 ice cubes
-splash of plain soy milk or just enough to get the ingredients moving, You could also use vanilla rice milk or water
Blend until smooth.
I tried it today without the banana it was more of a slushy texture and more chocolate flavor shined threw without the banana in there. I really enjoyed both.
I'm open to suggestions and ideas.

Gibblerfan, I am going to try your recipe! Here's another one.
I found this recipe online recently and even my teen daughter liked it.
Cafe Chocolate Shake
1/2 cup chilled decaf coffee
1/2 cup skim milk
2 tsp chocolate syrup
1/4 cup crushed ice
Blend in Blender or Magic Bullet, and enjoy. It's not super thick, though.
I am having this for dessert tonight. I saved Amaretto coffee from this morning, and it's in the fridge now. (Not decaf, but I hope to sleep tonight anyway!)
I'd also considered adding a 1/2 tsp of soy powder for more protein.
Wouldn't it also taste good with Chocolate-Raspberry coffee? Yummmm....

I use the 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup of light chocolate soy milk, 1/2 cup orange juice and a couple of frozen strawberries with a splash of cinnamon.
For a vanilla smoothie (I'm sure you could make it chocolate too!)
I use:
1 cup Lactaid (or fat free milk)
8 ice cubes
1 3/4 tbsp suger free, fat free instant vanilla pudding mix (or chocolate)
2 tbsp sugar free vanilla syrup (chocolate or strwberry might work too)
I blend everything in the Magic Bullet and it works really well
