a big spoonful of natural/organic peanutbutter and an apple or on a single piece on whole grain bread provides healthy fats and proteins which will keep you satisfied until it's time for your next meal - even if it is many hours from then.

Nuts and raisens keep me full for ages, even from a small handful - say 8 brazil nuts and a little pile of raisens

cucumber/peanut butter sandwich... lol kind of weird but very healthy and filling too (providing u use a hell of a lot of cucumber and only some peanut butter)

roast some sliced eggplant to take with you! ...for a low cal veg i find it very carby/filling- you need a fork depending on how long you bake- but it is sooo good hot or cold and covered in tomato sauce

also definitely soy/nuts

  1. I often (several times a week) eat a pound of baby carrots at one sitting: (175 calories?)
  2. I often eat 16 oz. of shredded cabbage with 4 tbs. of lowfat dressing (190 calories)
  3. I peel 3 medium cucumbers or 2 large cucumbers, cut them into spears, and dip them into lowfat dressing (165 calories)
  4. I eat 2 braeburn or gala apples (cutting them into small wedges) 160 calories
  5. I eat a bag of Orville's popcorn 94% free  (240 calories)

these are all great! thanks so much everybody. i really like the cucumber and cabbage ideas.

very helpful. im glad im not the only one that can take out a bag of baby carrots without a thought. haha thanks

I'm happy to find someone else who will eat cabbage and carrots.

I used to when watching college football games (one after the other after the other) while drinking a few brewskies eat not just one pound of baby carrots, but sometimes 2.  And sometimes to make up for the fried chicken, baby back ribs, or rib steaks eat 2 pounds of shredded cabbage with lowfat dressing.  Well, those were the bad or good old days.

My brother-in-law had an interesing thing happen to him, which I guess is fairly common.  His skin began to turn orange, because he ate so many carrots, particularly when he was driving his tractor.  I haven't had that happen to me.  It's not dangerous, just a bit odd.

I cut Zucchini into slices put them in a bowel, cover and then microwave them for about a minute and thirty seconds. Then cut a lime in half and squeeze it on top of them, and add a pinch or two of salt.

Its very good, hot, filling and about 50 calories depending on the size of the Zucchini.
