GREAT list of suggestions lin! Well, I just got finished with a not new, but modified snack. I had mentioned earlier the wasa bread with peanut butter and banana under the broiler... well, I was thinking that jam comes in all sorts of flavors, so would blueberries and strawberries taste just as good under the broiler with some pb?... YES!!
Way too go...I think that the pb on the wasa bread with a bananna and the chocolate sauce sounds great. I guess you could always use the broiler thing to make like smores just by adding the marshmellows to it. And blueberry jam is amazing. Maybe apple butter would be great...ahh there are so many options!
Last night I was REALLY craving protein. Ended up chopping up some red bell pepper, wrapping the strips in a bit of ham, and dipping them in homemade hummus. OH man, it was really really tasty, such a good combination of flavours!
i made a GREAT discovery on ppk.com--fry up half a sliced banana in a skillet, remove the slices and heat a corn tortilla on the skillet. then put the banana on one side of the tortilla and drizzle peanut butter over it. fold it in half and cook til crispy. mmm good (:
YUMMM....right now I am all about roasted salted almonds...possibly making that wrap you suggested ewwxroflzz and adding almonds....sounds like tons of protein for me, and we all know what it takes to build those muscles!!
Have you ever tried Almond Breeze? I think it's really good, especially if you add some honey!
Nope, I have never had that. I am definitely obsessed with nuts now though. I guess I owe that to recovery. But the healthy fats are easy to get in since you don't need a lot of them for a serving. I have been adding them to yogurt, fruit salads, chicken salads, and oatmeal.
Has anyone ever heard of baking with applesauce instead of oil? I made a cranberry bliss cinnamon loaf and used applesauce and it was fantastic..plus I guess it seemed healthier right?
yeah i've been wanting to try that, that sounds delicious! and haha yeah i'm sure it's healthier than using oil. i'm getting more used to "good fats" but they still kind of scare me :x
