Healthy homeade granola bars

Quote  |  Reply

I absolutely love granola bars (Kashi are the best) so I decided to try making them myself.  I found this delicious recipe: http://www.joyfulabode.com/2008/04/11/homemad e-granola-bar-recipe-no-high-fructose-corn-sy rup-in-these-bars/.  They are so yummy and healthy.

Has anyone else tried making granola bars before?

There are some great recipes out there ... i make bars and slices using soaked dates and other dried fruit, with raw nuts like almonds or cashews, walnuts or brazils. You can pretty much put any combo together - blend them up in the food processor and press into a pan, then refrigerate and slice when firm. Yum!!! and you can check out this awesome recipe for Raw Vegan Brownies - they are the bomb!!

http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail. asp?recipe=59196  - you can turn the topping into a chocolate mousse to have over/with fruit salad ... if you don't have coconut oil, or don't like it, you can replace with a couple of ripe bananas - and i sweeten with runny honey instead of agave. all good.

squirrels194 that recipe looks amazing! I will have to try it out!!
