Healthy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
http://caloriecount.about.com/healthy-oatmeal -chocolate-chip-cookies-recipe-r168169
I made these last week and again this week for Christmas parties. They are SO delicious! My boyfriend can't stop eating them and I don't feel so guilty when I sneak one (or two) as well. For the chocolate chips, I used the new "swirled" kind that are a mixture between milk and white chocolate. YUM!
the above link didn't work :(
I like making oatmeal cookies too and they can be very healthy. Since my daughter hates raisins and is slightly allergic to nuts, I make them with pieces of chopped apple and cinnamon.
thanks trackies - these look really good. i think i will make some new year's day :)
Oatmeal cookies are delicious!
I hate to break it to you folks, but there's nearly a whole cup of sugar in this recipe, plus the chocolate chips are full of sugar and "quick oats" are not the same as regular oats healthwise. They have less fat than regular cookies for sure, but I would really hesitate to call them healthy with more than a full cup of sugar.

Johnny,
Do you normally eat the full pan of cookies? lmao... bc last I checked 4.3g of sugar and 53 cals is somewhat ok ;). Lighten up bud! They are cookies at the end of the day - We know they aren't that healthy! LMAO! But then again it sure beats a Safeway Cookie with 3-5x the cals/sugar/fat... right?
Malynda, I agree with what you say. What I objected to was calling this recipe "healthy". Part of the reason people are so confused about "Healthy" eating is because of mislabels like that. You can take anything and convert it to a micro-portion and it can look "ok", but who eats micro portions? Who eats just one cookie? ...lol. I know I can't and neither can anyone else I've ever met in my life...lol. Better to call them an unhealthy indulgence which is what they really are...lol..
Johnny,
Honestly I think you probably don't understand this bc you're not a women. lol. Hate to say it but in the first paragraph she says she made them for a Xmas party... that's what us women do: we grow a wild hair up our ass, make a batch of cookies, eat 3 and give the rest to our kids, PTA staff, co-workers, and anyone else. That being said I think that's why she posted the recipe. It's always nice when I go to a business mixer or Chamber or Historical Society event and I present candy/cookies, and they say "uh-oh here's the fitness guru!! How many cals does this have?!?!" and they love to try my stuff which has measly cals in comparison to what everyone else brought.
Case in point: I eat maybe one object like that per week... the rest is calculated diet regime. So yeah anything with butter/sugar isn't "healthy" per say but I would honestly say one-two indulgences won't cause a heart attack, stroke, or diabetes therefore it cannot be deemed an unhealthy indulgence. Crack is an unhealthy indulgence. lol.
I am curious..what is the wild hair up your **** you are talking about?...lol. Just kidding...
I get it Malynda, really I do...lol.
healthy or not... i made these today and everyone loved them. yum.
