Any healthy but not totally bland cerals out there?
I love breakfast and i need some suggestions on some cereal that has whole grains, fiber, low sugar and is above all tasty!! And if there is a cereal like that that you like that isn't like 230 calories a serving (one stinking cup) like my cereal is please tell me!!
I love fiber one honey clusters. It is high and fiber and tastes great.
kashi golean crunch is yummy.
sugar free brown sugar and cinnamon oatmeal (100)
Special K with Berries ( I got the generic even...) (110)
Could also search the forums for this topic, I know I got a bunch of ideas from a post a few weeks ago. ( :
Are you looking for other breakfast ideas too?

Cheerios! Though I'm not sure about the fiber part of it.. but you could have some 7-9 grain toast with it I suppose.
you've probably heard about time after time on these forums, but I'm going to suggest fiber one cereal, 60 cals for a 1/2 cup. The original kind that my boyfriend mistakes for the cat's food. Yeah, it's boring, but I make it taste good with one of two ways:
1. sprinkle some pumpkin pie spice and a packet of splenda or sugar before adding milk. Cinnamon works well too, and Im always reading about how it's good for your appetite and blah blah blah. (edited: reminds me of cinnamon toast crunch)
2. 1T of nestle carb select hot cocoa mix mixed in. It adds about 15 calories at the most. Mix with 1/2 cup light vanilla soymilk. (edited: reminds me of cocoa pebbles)
The vanilla soymilk adds a lot of flavor alone. But cow milk works fine too. Personally, I hate milk, tastes like it came out of a nipple. Oh wait, it did. ;-)
Also, adding fresh or thawed frozen berries makes any cereal taste better and more nutritious.
You could even eat a whole cup of fiber one and that's only 120 calories and all the fiber you need in the day plus more. It has no added sugar.

I eat special k mixed w/ fiber 1, what I have done previously is add a half cup of yogurt in for a bit of flavour..
YUM, Laura! ( :
LOL Personally, I hate milk, tastes like it came out of a nipple. Oh wait, it did. ;-) I'm dying over here....
I will have to try your pumpkin pie spice idea as well as the cocoa pebbles remake. I love doing that---taking something I like and making it better for me!

TOTAL - Honey Cluster
It's pretty good. Like really good. It doesn't taste like you are eating cardboard or candy. Definitely try it. I never wanted to try it despite my bf always eating it because it's so healthy I thought it can't possibly be good.. but it actually is.

Multi grain cheerios are really good!
This wont be much help I know but ...We have a great meusli in the UK - Dorset cereals -Super High Fibre. It is High Fibre, wholegrain, no added sugar, no added salt, low sodium.
I have 50g everyday with 150 ml of soya milk and a few berries & one kiwi fruit on top. This all comes to about 280 calories - but it does keep you going for a good few hours and tastes yummy

I always like breakfast food--just never actually at breakfast. ( :
Fruit (with or without yogurt) is always good. I recently discovered Egg Beaters, and I think if I did it right, I could have them every day. ( : I asked people here if I could cook the EB the night before and have them still be edible if reheated for on the fly breakfasts once school starts again.....not only did they say yes, but they gave me a great idea--- why not use the same cupcake foils I've been using to make low cal single serving cheeseakes to make mini-omelettes/fritattas (sp?)!!! You'd really only have a serving of EB (30 cals) + whatever veggies etc you put into it. i.e.e tomato and basil, mushrooms, onion, spinach, I found a yummy Caadian bacon and a turkey bacon that would make a great base for them. (maybe 60-70 cals)
It sounds crazy, but sometimes I have a big salad, a bowl of soup, or just veggies for breakafast these days.
PS: No, that is not all you would have for breakfast usually, but right now, I am trying to eat small and often. ( : You could easily add a whole wheat tortilla, English muffin, or some high fiber toast for more balance.

my parents use EB somtimes but i personally don't like eggs all to much. thanks though!
I love the Kashi with the Blueberries in it. (I think it's Kashi Heart to Heart). It's high-fibre and high-protein, comparatively, and pretty good :)
I like kashi go lean crunch, honey almond flax and also cheerios with a banana on top. I use vanilla soymilk for either.
I prefer All Bran because it has more fiber and less carbs. I vote for ALL BRAN :)
Sorry I wanted to add it is ALL Bran Extra Fiber. The green one. It is really great with non fat milk and some berries.
I love Special K Protein Plus cereal w/ half a frozen banana cut up in my bowl and 1 or 2 % milk! It's low in calories, high in protein, and tastes pretty good with or without the banana!
Egg beaters rock. As Olivia77 suggested, make them ahead in those foil cupcake thingies. I use a foil brownie pan and make enough for the whole week and cut it into squares. Any veggie is great in them, it doesn't need cheese.
I have recently started adding Butter Beans to them. I know, I know - sounds gross. But they add some fiber so they fill you up a bit. Plus, the bean when warm in the egg is just like a little packet of mashed potato. You can't believe how good!
